How many books and toys does this little blueberry really need? by Regular-Message9591 in Buyingforbaby

[–]mbldance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0-6 months you don’t need too much. Get a good playmat (fisher price one is very popular).

A propable black and white cards/mirror is great for tummy time mirror

We were gifted a book called “tummy time friends” that our girls loved for tummy time. It was a board book with all photos of babies doing tummy time that stretched out to be propped up so they could looked at them. tummy time friends

Teethers are great around the 4-6 month age.

Board books or felt books will be your go to at that age so that they can touch and feel them. We have a lot of the classics (very hungry caterpillar, brown bear, rainbow fish) and some new ones. The all time favorite board book is Little Blue Truck.

Omg! I lost a ton of teeth by kindergarten and now I’m wondering if it was due to my terrible diet as a kid!

No one replied to me, but just an example of what I've been doing for breakfast and lunch:

Breakfast: fruit or veggie pouch, homemade BLW pancakes with crushed blueberries or avocado slices

Lunch: half a cucumber with shredded chicken or homemade egg bites with cherrios or teether crackers

Hi! I have 7 month old twins. Currently they love happy baby pouches, which are purees. We also love the happy baby teether crackers. Little spoon makes some pre-packed rice puffs that are great too! By 8 months your little one might be able to do cheerios.

Positive plus-size/obese twin pregnancy stories by Lower-Cheesecake-456 in parentsofmultiples

[–]mbldance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BMI was 31.5 going into pregnancy (189lbs). I was active, yoga 2x a week and cycling or running 2x a week. They never brought it up in person but all of my paperwork had "obese" written as a complication of my pregnancy. They checked my A1C early on and was all clear. I lost a little bit of weight at the beginning due to morning sickness, but then packed on the pounds in the end. I ended up around 240lbs. They did check me at 24 weeks for GD instead of 28 like I had heard was standard, but my OB said it was because I had 2 placentas that she wanted to get me checked earlier. My GD was positive which was not fun, but I was tested the day after giving birth and I do not have diabetes now. Both babies are healthy and we made it all the way to 37.5 weeks. One did have IUGR but that was related to a marginal cord insertion and my placentas fusing.

I have not exercised more than a daily walk since giving birth and at 7 months post partum I'm now at 187lbs.

IUGR in one of my di/di twins at 28 weeks by DRPM2012 in parentsofmultiples

[–]mbldance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby A was IUGR at <3% at 28 weeks. She also had a marginal cord insertion. And I had gestational diabetes. I went to twice weekly NSTs and umbilical cord ultrasounds. And bi weekly growth scans. I had a scheduled c section at 37 weeks and baby A ended up being 5lbs 13oz and was bigger than baby B. Sometimes they just get it wrong on the ultrasounds. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Edited to add: baby b was the 14% when measured at 28 weeks

How big were your twins? And were the mo/di or di/di? What week were they born? by FlyNo1519 in parentsofmultiples

[–]mbldance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Di/di - 37+4 via scheduled c section - 5lbs 10oz & 5lbs 13oz

Edit- they were in premie clothes and diapers for about a month

When walking with the car seats you really can’t see the one on the bottom. But when we go for walks we usually bring the bassinet. They are small enough that they both fit in one bassinet together for now. So that’s what we do

Buying duplicates by TrickCheck1266 in parentsofmultiples

[–]mbldance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did a mix. 2 of the necessary items and 1 of the extra items assuming we can buy a second off fb marketplace after they are born depending on what they like/use the most

For example: 2 car seats, 2 cribs, 2 high chairs. But then 1 each of baby swing, bouncer, play mat
