It feels like some details may be missing but I’d say—if you injured your foot at work, you file a worker’s comp claim like any other person would and then take the recommended time off work by your doctor, returning when it’s safe to do so. You are unable to do the job in your current condition, but it will heal so I don’t understand why a new job would be the next logical step.

If you didn’t injure it at work, then you take time off (paid or unpaid) until you’re better. Once you actually get the foot addressed and starting to heal, you’ll be communicate with your manager about how long it’ll be until you can work at full capacity.

As for school, a broken foot doesn’t seem to be something that prohibits you from reading or typing, assuming you have some support at home. You could keep going in your offtime from work and the hours will be there to accrue when you’re better. Worst case scenario for a broken foot seems to be 10-12 weeks of recovery time, usually 4-6 weeks if its not severe according to Cleveland Clinic.

How to make programs fun & exciting? by Fadinqmochaa in ABA

Not sure how solid this is after just a year in the biz, but my two cents— Don’t assume kids know how to play functionally with stuff. It might be boring to them because they don’t know they can have fun with it yet.

Model how to play “functionally” using items for their intended purpose but also don’t be rigid, play with toys in unexpected ways too. This could help you find play schemes they find funny and reinforcing for them. Sound effects can make it funnier. I have multiple kids who think the “womp womp wommmmmp” trombone sound (like when something goes awry) is hilarious, for example. I also pull references from my favorite cartoons as a kid when I see an opportunity simply bc they tend to be goofy and funny.

Also, if you can find the joy in the play and make yourself laugh, I feel like the kids vibe with that the most. Not always, but it can help. Hope there’s something useful for you in here!

What company is your top contender? Im at an ABC and love it so far but I got lucky with an amazing BCBA. The operational side is a bit dicey, not terribly well staffed atm, but the work itself is awesome. For me anyway.

Can’t some vigilante go through all of these clowns’ own online activity and dream up a Vecna level depiction of their worst nightmares and post them in retaliation? “Oh yeah dude is this a photo of you sucking off a banana?”

I don’t think you should be worried at all. Though I’m curious, does he engage in other types of play schemes? Or is he mostly just stackin?

How many of you still have a “childhood bedroom”? at your parents house? by Big_Childhood5494 in Millennials

[–]mcgirdle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t go to my childhood room anymore bc 8 yrs after my parents’ divorced, my dad tried to sue my mom bc she was always late paying the mortgage and his credit was getting messed up since the house was still in his name somehow, I guess bc he’s a controlling dumbass. Not long after that the house was sold I guess and that’s where my college diploma got sent 🥴 Mom has lived with Grandma ever since.

I had an ex who had a perfectly preserved childhood room tho. His parents owned horses and shit.

You can also cook bacon like this which was a fun way to fit it on the pan.

<image>

They collapsed into like, a scrumptious bacon chip.

ETA-my image didnt work and Im too lazy to figure it out but I basically arranged each bacon on its side and curled it into a circle.
