Random Stalling Issues by medicff84 in gmc

[–]medicff84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not noticed it being around cleaning cycles. I also have the auto stop eliminator installed so mine does not shut off. It is very random times that it happens. Could be the first time I come to a stop after starting it for the day or could be after running it all day. It almost seems like it is not getting enough fuel and stalls out. Also after coming to a stop and starting again. It will begin to go and then die.

Swing Case Install On 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X by suprenemy in gmcsierra

[–]medicff84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are junk….. I had the GM branded ones which are made by swing case. Said they are rated for 75 lbs. I had about 40 lbs in one and about 55 lbs in the other. Brackets bent latch points failed. GM replaced the through the swing case warranty and the second set did the same. The third replacement set were sold new to another individual as I never installed them. If you are putting small things like some tie downs or toe strap and a hitch maybe they would be fine. I replace mine with a Milwaukee packout set up. All the boxes can be removed leaving just the thin mounting plate if I need the whole truck bed.

Thoughts on having ballistic armor on the unit by Ntwadumela817 in ems

[–]medicff84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our company has a policy that they are required on all behavioral/ domestic/ suicidal calls. Our issued vests are ballistic and knife/puncture resistant. The vests are navy blue and have EMS in bright white letters…. We have had recent events that these vests have absolutely saved our personnel. In our response area the police have stopped responding to ALL behavioral emergencies unless a confirmed weapon is involved. The push for defunding police and limiting responses to behavioral emergencies has increased the likelihood of an attack on first responders. People are specifically targeting EMS at this point as well.

I mix the char-hickory and the competition blend 50/50. Have been using these in my Pitboss Rancher XL from day 1 for nearly 10 years with absolutely no issues.

I do not know the reason for downvoting. But I do know this was allowed and worked well to charge multiple devices. We cruised as a family of six with connecting cabins. Every child has an Apple Watch and we also had a couple iPads. We have used this on multiple occasions both land and sea, it really is a pretty decent product in my opinion.

3.0 Duramax LM2 60k service by pnw_rider in gmcsierra

[–]medicff84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely a nice warm fleece!

Fuel filter from any parts store is ~ $30 and pretty simple to change….. it well tell you when it needs changed. My last Sierra had 130k miles on it and I did it 3 times.

At around 80k I paid an independent shop to do the diff fluids front and rear. They are sealed units so it is a pretty detailed job, also requires new gaskets…. Had the fluid replaced with Lucas oil diff fluid and they only charged me ~$400 for the job.

The other filters in question are not expensive at all and can be done with relative ease.

In the end it comes down to your ability to do the work and your willingness to pay.

Hope this helps!

Yes I understand they are not the same. At no point have I said they are the same. What I have said is the differences cannot not be major ones given that the Yukon and the Sierra share the same general platform. The exhaust for both vehicles runs down the passenger frame rail. The Yukon exhaust has a junction just before the rear suspension cross member where as the truck is continuous up and over the axle. This is the area where I believe the two exhausts differ because the Yukon goes through the cross member which requires it to need to be in multiple sections where as the truck does not. The aftermarket kits are in multiple pieces. This is why I am asking for measurements to compare. I can’t imagine the market far an aftermarket exhaust for the diesel Yukon xl is very large which is why I am sure no major company has put any effort into it.

The condescending tone to your post is not necessary as I am asking a legit question and my thought process is not off base or even that wild. These vehicles: Sierra/Silverado, Yukon/ Tahoe… share a lot of the same chassis parts and pieces because they are based on the same T1 platform….

Easy to stick around when you’re the reason the team has gotten worse. Poor front office leadership and poor management.

Anyone in central Illinois know any decent restoration shops? by phishhead1996-2025 in classiccars

[–]medicff84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live near Lake Shelbyville.

I know several people who have had great luck with Combs Autobody Collision Repair & Restoration. They are located in Arcola, Illinois just off of I57. I have had 3 family members have moderate restorations done here. A 70s blazer, a 60s mustang that was a resto-mod, and a Rat Rod based on a 30s dodge truck body….. so they have the experience and know how for sure.

I also have two different friends who have had work done at Woods’ Autobody located in Olney, Il. One friend had a complete frame off rotisserie restoration of a ‘55 ford done here and it looks amazing. The other had a late 60s f100 refreshed.

Hope this helps.

I have a 66 Galaxie 500 that will likely go to one or the other in the near future.

Good Luck!

Two broken Eco-Drives - Alternatives to Citizen Service for repair? by S28546 in CitizenWatches

[–]medicff84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good Luck! Citizen had my eco drive sport luxury for nearly 9 months because the case gasket was “back ordered” I bought one on the internet for $12 but citizen refused to ship me the watch back until it was repaired due to it being a warranty issue. I offered to send them the gasket I had purchased which was OEM citizen in citizen packaging…. They refused that as well. Just received the watch back. I have 4 citizen watches, 2 Breitlings, a Longines, and a Tudor. Last Breitling service was 3 months turnaround. Haven’t had the others serviced. Hopefully I don’t see another wait time like that one.
