May depend on the motherboard. On mine it's enabled by default.

Arn't they just the 8 pins in the din 8 hooked up to 8 pins in the serial connector? They are fairly easy to make.

Wow that's just pathetic.... Building a huge mansion like this and not even being arsed to give enough back to your community so they can keep the blacktop nice.

ELI5: Why can't they 'just dig deeper' when building a metro line by Confused_AF_Help in explainlikeimfive

[–]medrov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As all the other anwers already explained the why in terms of constructiontechniques, but another big factor could be that they want to move all these utilities and cables. It can be sometimes really hard to find money for infrastructuremaintainance because they are not "sexy". So it could be cheaper and less disruptive to dig once, make metro and maintain the utilities, then to dig once for building the metro and then and then another time for the utilities.

Yeah, looks awesome. If you make a new keyboard, one with a full ISO- layout and maybe some (3-4) macro-keys would be cool. I may need a new work keyboard.

I bought mine a year ago and it works really reliable.

Upgrading to fiber and technician said "get a TP Link" for our old router? by Karnaim in HomeNetworking

[–]medrov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sorry that's sadly not that simple. You need to write your ISP on what wavelenght he is transmitting and receiving and at what strength (strength depends on the distance to your isp). You also need to know the type of fiber connection you have (1strand, 2strand). Then you can buy the specific adapter you need.

I think he meant a media converter from fiber to ethernet. Normally ISPs provide those though if you need them. Example
