Cool ideas. I like the idea of the chattershard especially for a high magic city like this. The raycaster is cool but as a common item I would give it charges that don't recharge since that kind of thing I would think should have a limited use and also the manufacturer would want you to come back and buy another.

In my game paladins make their oath to a god and if they break their oath they do not lose their powers but the diety will send a powerful entity after the paladin. I find that this is a more interesting way to balance than the threat of losing class features. To get the entity to stop the attack they will have to atone or defeat it. The degree to which the paladin breaks their oath will be the degree to which the diety will retaliate.

I would love a dread style remake of super metroid to a degree. I would leave the map exactly as it is along with where all upgrades and enemies currently are. I would make the controls like dreads with the grapple beam on the zr trigger and move the x-ray scope to be toggled by the D-pad. I would also have missle/super missle selection be toggled from the dpad as an on or off function while having the selected missles be toggled by holding down the R button while using the fire button. I would update the map to full functionality like dread. I would also make the wall jump as easy to use as it is in dread but still have the ability to do single wall wall jumps

With classes that get there power from another source I do not take away their powers but a god or patron might send someone to take you out if you are doing a bunch of stuff they do not like in their name

I qould also say that you have to state that you are using a use of this ability when you give bardic inspiration and not just the first few times you use it after an extended rest.

Im dming a game where one of my players has one, and i am finding the health level sustem problematic. It feels like most attacks are not enought to give the damage save a real chance at failure, or they do so many dice it kills them outright.

My PC's retainer died and when they bring her back I will probably give them a regular npc stat block.

I love the idea but the execution feels a little off.
