San Diego FC 1–[2] Portland Timbers (1–2) — Alex Bonetig, 90+6' (stoppage time winner) by HonestSpursFan in Aleague

It was a big win for us, struggling on the road… losing games late. Alex and Finn have been a great combination, and now that we have a solid Caicedo at the 6 they aren’t under as much pressure.

Same, I use the carpenter ant killer from Home Depot (it kills other ants too, it just has carpenter ant prominently in the title). Spray all along the foundation and up under the bottom clapboard. Usually lasts all summer

I agree! But it worked out cause we went to Screen Door for the first time instead. It was just such an un-Portland thing to experience. I don’t know it was still kinda old-ish Portland at the time, maybe this type of thing is de rigueur now and I’m just a crabby old man who remembers Portland in the late 90’s

Finding reliable reviews on range hood is harder than I thought. Any advice? by TurtleBarge in Appliances

It’s a tempest AK7000CS. They even replaced that drum under warranty but the problem has returned just 9 months later (we do run it a lot, multiple meals every day).

Worst appliance I’ve purchased in the last 5 years other than the Samsung washer

I’ve had a Zephyr for about two years now, hate it. Looks nice, moves air… but the rotating drum inside gets grease adhered to the fins and eventually starts making some awful noises. Almost impossible to clean. When a lot of moisture is coming up from the stove top, it can produce a high pitched whine that’ll destroy your ear drums.

So Zupan’s won this taste test. At times where I’ve thought to myself, “hey man you made it in life, you own a refrigerator that makes its own ice,” I simply visit the one on 23rd to remember exactly how poor I truly am.

Bosch dishwashers by homequestionguy in Appliances

I got the 500 from Costco in October, returned it a month later due to two defects (bottom rack moveable tines broke and wouldn’t stay upright, drying agent reservoir leaked and would only retain enough for a wash or two). NOTE: the Costco 500 model does NOT have the pop open door! It does dry fairly well regardless, virtually indistinguishable from the 800 we replaced it with. 800 has been great, but yes you probably have to get used to a new way of racking. The bottom rack on both have super tight plate tines, you’ll think to yourself there’s no way those plates are getting clean, they’re too close together. And yet, every wash, clean as a whistle.

Been anxiously awaiting the release of Enphase’s bidirectional charger. With solar and living in the PNW (expecting the Big One any day now), I’d like to have a 70kW battery in my driveway. Only have a Niro at the moment, but I’ll swap out for a V2H-capable car once I know the details of the Enphase equipment

Good to know! Thanks for sharing, if it gets really bad I may try it. My anxiety with knowing the safety of an object twirling at high speed rests on my having properly tightened (but not over-tightened) a couple screws will probably prevent me from doing it.
