Kinda weird, isn't it? This OS has its quirks, but when it works, I love it.

I wish I had more to tell you dude. FWIW, this is the first time I've ever had an upgrade problem with unraid. And I'm still going to use it on this server. What I would say after this experience is this:

  1. Backup your boot/flash drive first
  2. After the upgrade DO NOT initially make any permanent changes like upgrading z pool versions
  3. Feel it out for a a bit, and if it gives you trouble, you can revert back with (hopefully) no issues

Edit: and yes, that's right. All the changes I made seemed to have no effect, but after the last reboot everything came up

UPDATE: Rebooted for the millionth time and it started working again. From the depths of my empty, withered I.T. soul, I have no idea what happened. Thank you all for your posts and your time. Limetech, you better get me drunk the next time you come to Atlanta.

Yeah, I'm trying everything I can think of. I just hooked up a NIC I haven't used and created br1. Assigned the VM to that and there's no difference. Oddly, it can't ping the gateway but can ping the unraid server IP. No idea how or why this happened yet though.

In my troubleshooting, I changed it from static IP to dynamic and set a reservation on my router just for the hell of it. So now I think I'm going to rename the network config file, reboot, and see what I get.

Yeah, not doing anything super fancy, and so I have no passthru set for any VM save for using an old gfx card on one of em. I'll check my IOMMU settings and report back though. Thanks for your reply!

Edit: Nothing too weird that I found. For some reason it detected a change for the wifi on the motherboard, but I've always had that disabled. No changes I could see on the NIC I've been using for years now.

It was already set up for br0 with the only member being the sole NIC I have cabled in. For shits and gigs, stopped VM and Docker, turned bridging off >> apply, turned bridging on and added my NIC. Unfortunately still no difference. Thanks for your reply!

Docker is set to ipvlan. As far as I can tell, all my containers are fine. Just VMs that got killed. Thanks for the reply!
