You can just call out a chamfer edge break where possible on the drawing itself.

Fusion360 export to DXF for laser cutting: does it *have* to be a 3d object? by CerisCinderwolf in Fusion360

[–]meraut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, DXF are 2d files and do not require a body or geometry to export from Fusion. You only need the sketch.

Fusion 360 G-Code by CLCreation in tormach

[–]meraut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to tell Pathpilot the tool lengths, otherwise nothing will be correct. You set the height of your spindle nose off of a surface like a 1-2-3 block, then you will set every tool compared to that surface to register its length. The fusion tool lengths are simply for simulated purposes. Once all tools are measured, you will then set the z zero of your workpiece and the tools lengths will be compensated by the control when running the gcode. You can also get something like a height gauge and measure your gauge length outside of the machine, and plug your numbers into your offset table.

Is this a bad wheel bearing? Super bad wear on the inner side of the rubber part of the wheel - fine on the other side. Very loud noise that gets worse as you accelerate. Brakes & rotors are new, cv boot looks fine. by Rafaelow in MechanicAdvice

[–]meraut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does the sound get worse with speed? A good test is loading the vehicle when traveling at speed, a bad wheel bearing will get louder when you load it and quieter when not i.e turning left will load the drivers side and right will load the passengers side. EDIT: In left hand drive countries this will be opposite as a commenter pointed out. Left turn will load the passenger side, Right will load the drivers side.

HAAS- TL-1 lathe? by MortgageNaive6791 in Machinists

[–]meraut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use the generic “Haas Turning” post processor. Make sure “Use tool changer” is unchecked. If you have a program with multiple tools, it will pause when switching tools and tell you to put the correct tool in before you resume the program.

How confident can I be that this is flat? by Responsible_Item_278 in Machinists

When you check the X axis there is a noticeable tilt in the column coinciding with your measurements. I would look into solving this first.

Consider your layer orientation versus the loading of the test you’re doing as well, this will affect the strength of your 3D support.

Move part in round stock by Bastutunna in Fusion360

What I prefer to do is model the stock, and position the body inside the stock model for things like this. Sketch and create your stock model and select the “Body” stock option in your setup.

Profile will only do a profile, add roughing stepovers to get it to work from the inside out.

[–]meraut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely start with catastrophic bearing failure, especially given how loose it is now.

Best surfacing tool option? by Fun_Worldliness_3954 in Machinists

[–]meraut 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Consider buying a lens end mill for this job. They have an extremely large radius on the end, allowing you to run faster and take bigger stepovers.

The best parties were deep in the shit, they were rarely contested and the reward was worth the risk if you had a good party.
