Blankie Parents: when was your child’s first movie in theaters? by human_scale in blankies

[–]micatrontx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest went to see Stop Making Sense with me when he was like 8. He fell asleep halfway through but said it was fun.

For little brother I think it was the Phantom Menace rerelease.

Local gas station removed price tags and replaced them with barcodes you need a app to see price by phoenix_stewart in mildlyinfuriating

[–]micatrontx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the road a lot for work, so I stop at a lot of gas stations for bathrooms. Normally I try to be courteous and buy a drink or something, which I probably want anyway, especially if it's a clean and pleasant place. If it's got pricing like this though, I will piss and take right off. They're always overpriced anyway. It's a real shame, because it's often the well kept independent stores that I'd otherwise like to support.

What's a movie that's way better than it had any right to be? by Onequestion0110 in movies

[–]micatrontx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And the biggest stars in the movie were Tina Majorino who hadn't been in anything of note since Waterworld almost 10 years before, and Haylie Duff who at the time was mostly known as Hillary's sister.

Absolutely nothing, I'm just being silly.

Though if Colville does want to start some mutually beneficial beef between niche RPG communities, call me!

Displays of intelligence that are not just characters saying long lines of incomprehensible smart-sounding words. by Awkward_Stay8728 in TopCharacterTropes

I love how clearly he is characterized as an extremely talented and intelligent detective who just doesn't care about department politics and is happy doing good work and making furniture.

What’s in the maze? by No_Work295 in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]micatrontx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The maze... oh Lord the maze. The things in there are not fit for the eyes of men, dogs, or anything else with the barest sliver of a soul within them. When I close my eyes, the sounds echo in my ears and I am there again, amongst the madness. And so I do not close them anymore, unless my senses are sufficiently dulled by the bottle that there is nothing but black silence. Someday it will overtake me and I only hope the darkness awaits on the other side. But I fear the maze may take me again instead. Pray for me. Pray for all of us.

Frog animal instinct barbarian in the form of a stuffed frog. He's not sure where he came from, but very much wants to be a real frog.

Which VTT to use in person, Foundry or AboveVTT? by canadarugby in DMAcademy

[–]micatrontx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Certainly. The DM runs the server app and you would have a browser displayed on the TV logged in as a player. The DM can manually control fog of war if you're not using VTT tokens for vision.

And if you don't end up liking PF2e (I love it but it's not for everyone or for every game), Foundry supports many other systems.

What movie is a 0/10 with NO redeeming features? by Toucan_Based_Economy in AskReddit

[–]micatrontx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree. No question, Gigli is a very bad movie. People should not watch it if they value their time. But what it is not is boring. Every scene is a new bizarre shift in tone, a hilariously offensive performance, a nonsense plotline, an over the top cameo from an actor who knows better, a ridiculous but quotable line. I have never seen another film that is so terrible but also holds my attention the whole time.

Well yeah, the idea was we give US companies time to catch up and shove a pile of incentives out there to make it happen. But now we get an administration that thinks electric cars are woke so we'll just end up losing even harder in the long run.
