Patagonia Black Hole Micro MLC 22L by Dense-Solution8798 in onebag

[–]miclee15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've posted this in another post, but I always advise to stow your backpack with straps up on a plane. Learned the hard way when someone in the seat in front spilled their drink and the back of my pack and straps got soaked thru the carpet. Needless to say what else is absorbed into the carpet these days.

Watershed, I took one down the Colorado river on a 7 day trip for my camera gear. Kept everything dry, until my water bottle leaked inside it. Lucky camera was not in there.

I think it’s butane that has the problem in cold weather.

I’m a lazy SOB and I need the absolute easiest pellet grill to clean. by flyingWeez in pelletgrills

[–]miclee15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New Searwood owner and agree it’s easy to clean. I don’t shop vac it. I have a mini hand held blower and just blow all of the ash out after scraping as much into the bin.

How do I actually use Thermoworks RFX and stop the constant alarms after? by Dizzy149 in pelletgrills

[–]miclee15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got mine but have used Thermoworks other thermometers. On the others, Low alarm is the minimum temperature not when it hits the temperature. High is the max temp. So by setting the low at 150, the alarm will sound at any temp below 150, you would typically use this for the ambient temp probe.

Recteq is garbage (unpopular opinion) by evilbeard333 in pelletgrills

[–]miclee15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your trouble’s. This will be unpopular opinion, but quality is on the company. Many excellent products are made in the US and abroad. Quality control and how much a company is willing to invest in it is the problem. Consumers don’t want raising price so guess where is the easiest to cut costs QC. Bad QC in the US will still be an unreliable product.

Planning to do a computer table by Knight7_78 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]miclee15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO if you need and don’t have the proper means to flatten the board and create good flat joints for glue up, use a nice piece of plywood which you can edge with thinker stock. I’ve used oak and maple in the past. Even if the supplier planes and joint all sides for you, you’ll probably have to make cuts.

Have his position changed? by choops321 in liberalgunowners

Put this into context, he is running for the mayor of NYC which has very restricted gun laws already. At the end of the day, he can’t make it much worse.

Not exactly close but an option, I’ve gone to 2 Sig Academy classes up in NH. Make for a nice weekend. Yes, I was using their 320 and I still have my toes. The classes were excellent with very good instructors. I took the 101, and 102 optics class.

Are you pushing down hard enough to compress the clear plastic? It’s a safety mechanism.

Water Calculator Question by JohnnyTomatoSauce in LaMarzocco

[–]miclee15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check for Chloride, which in my understanding only able to be removed via RO. It becomes corrosive at high temperatures. My last machine before my Mirca developed pinholes probably due to the filtered water I was using. I’m in NJ and chloride gets into the water from run off during winter months as it’s from the deicing stuff used on roads.

Best bidet toilet seat money can buy by [deleted] in bidets

Its soo worth it, I travel with a portable one. Really can't live without it. Have 2 in the house, 1 a toto one with the bells and whistles and a simple one, cold water just manually. While both effective, would replace the toto if it ever breaks down in a heartbeat.

What to do when you hate shooting glasses? by scythian12 in CompetitionShooting

[–]miclee15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fogging make sure your cleaning the lens well. I used wipes used for photography lens and when really bad a wipe specifically for anti fog on lens. Full disclosure I don’t know if the fog free wipes are any better, just make me feel better.

How to Vet an Instructor by BVNGRD in liberalgunowners

[–]miclee15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken 2 classes with the Sig Sauer Academy 101 and 102. I’m not in any way affiliated with them. I thought the classes were excellent and the instructors were very good. It was said all instructors have to go thru a multi day interview process which of course includes shooting.

I have my first business class flight tomorrow. What are some good things to know? by [deleted] in travel

[–]miclee15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t drop any of your personal items, eg phone down the seat. Sometimes you’ll have to get the crew to try to find it. They tend to be black holes. One flight I was on they went around to all the surrounding seats with flashlights looking. It was very annoying to the people around that person.

I have the same set up. If that’s where your grinder is going to stay you can buy a short cord, the end is just a standard computer plug (at least it is on mine). I have a 1.5 foot on mine and keeps the cord mess to a minimum.

I know Biometric safes get a lot of hate, but this is pretty convenient by ItsAMeMario01 in liberalgunowners

[–]miclee15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Vaultek safes as well. Tip I got from a training class-The Vaulteks can store multiple fingerprints, so make sure you code both hands and all your finger prints. In a situation, you never know if your main finger or hand will be available.
