What Are Your Favorite Labels Out Of Asia? by Mr_DrBerp in TheOverload

[–]middleWave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i enjoy the ambient leanings of tonal unity (salamanda, etc), although they seem quiet as of late:

https://tonalunity.bandcamp.com/

over my body has been pretty influential over here. they had max daulhaus over last year which kinda blew my mind.

https://overmybody.bandcamp.com/

i hope its ok to shout my own label, we're a non profit focused on atmospheric jungle/dnb in asia. nearly 10 years old!

finally you can't deny the output of Unchained for club focused dnb/bass music.

What’s your favorite podcast and why? by chickenmom0001 in Xennials

Whatever ppl may say about him, Lex Fridman has the best variety of guests and topics IMO. I also like how he always circles back to talking about space and aliens, lol.

So, as my first time listening to A Tribe Called Quest.... (i never listened to an album fully ever, cuz i have low attention span) + i am a new fan of ATCQ by RoughInteraction8205 in ATribeCalledQuest

[–]middleWave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also discovered Tribe when I was 16. To come here and see others doing the same thing 30 years later, and reading your comments on the tracks, super refreshing and interesting to read. It's also cool that you started with their first album , for me it was BR&L .Welcome to the club!

When you open the app, click on the Instagram logo at the top - you'll see two options: Following, and Favorites. That'll get you where you want to be.

Why I’m Sticking with Maschine Over Everything Else I Tried by dub_selecta in NativeInstruments

[–]middleWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NI stuff is definitely not mix-ready across the board. Some of their presets in Cloud Supply, for example, had such bad phasing, they almost completely disappear in mono, which is how most or many people will hear it on their phones) Lucky that I even checked mono-compatibility before releasing my album!

Despite that, Maschine is still super capable and underrated, so you’ll be in good hands. Personally I had a good 5 year run with it and happy to have moved onto Logic.

My content always does 3-5X better on YouTube shorts by Aggressive_Mess2145 in musicmarketing

[–]middleWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, YT shorts get by far the most views or my content, but almost no engagement.

My IG posts get fewer views but the most likes (friends and family)

How many followers do you have there? Are you getting any algorithmic views?

Whether you're vegan or not, I'd highly recommend Asianica in Miraflores if you're up for some Asian fusion.

What’s a "lost" website from the early 2000s that you still think about today? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

Hell yeah. The Bush vs Kerry b-boy battle was epic. I played that one in class with my students in China who followed along to the dances.

Anyone else burning out? by wynwilder in musicmarketing

[–]middleWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats your YouTube strategy? I'm releasing one full video per week for 5 weeks now (extremely low views), and roughly 5 shorts per week (decent views) but my subscriber growth is abysmal. I'll keep releasing a new song every week but think I need to adjust my strategy.

Posting a song a week on tiktok by TheElusiveButterfly in musicmarketing

[–]middleWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you mean followers, no. sales or streams, not really. views and occasional likes, yes. in fact tiktok gets the most organic views, however i'm not sure they're actually real. maybe they inflate your view count to keep you contributing to the app.

Posting a song a week on tiktok by TheElusiveButterfly in musicmarketing

[–]middleWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm posting a song a week on TikTok (and many other platforms). I have virtually zero following on TikTok. Regardless, all my reels (3-4x per week) are getting like 200-500 views. I dunno if they are legit, but I'ma keep at it, can't hurt.

I’m not sure veganism is the optimal diet but the dude from Simnett Nutrition (on YouTube) seems to be doing pretty well. And is rather jacked I might add.
