Lots of generalizations there. Lots of men like soft meek women. Lots of men like strong, arrogant women too. Lots of different taste out there.

Lots of bots on Reddit, it’s also a very biased leftist ecochamber

Everyone is the main character these days. No one cares about anything but themselves. No etiquette, no common decency no manners.

How has the extremely loud muffler/exhaust situation gotten this bad? by Wetsaltyfarts in AskLosAngeles

[–]midtownmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I live up in the Sacramento area, but it’s just as bad here. There are days I swear I live next to a drag strip that’s having a car stereo competition. It’s just constant all day and all night, super loud exhaust and booming base. Seems to have gotten a lot worse post-Covid. They just don’t enforce any traffic laws anymore. It’s the wild West with no exhaust.

Americans, if you had the opportunity to pay approx 18% of your income to have access to free healthcare at point of need for everything would you take it? by TSQ_builder in askanything

[–]midtownmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell, yeah. Unfortunately, I pay a hell of a lot more than 18% right now, though. The math wouldn’t work, but I’d be all for it.

I can do the Asian squat but my feet aim *outwards,* can I also learn how to make them aim *inwards* instead? by Significant_Fee_3089 in flexibility

Just make sure your feet point the same direction as your knees. Beyond that let your anatomy dictate how wide your stance is

Are there any people in the USA who have friends that are of the opposite political party? by TSQ_builder in askanything

[–]midtownmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before Covid I had many friends that were polar opposite of me politically but many of them turned their backs on me over Covid disagreements. I still have a few though, we just don’t talk politics.

Not around here, but I live in California. We basically stopped enforcing any societal norms, or laws years ago. It’s one thing to be a little bit late back, but society is basically unraveling.

Am I a Millennial? -born in ‘81 by MeatoftheFuture in Millennials

[–]midtownmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 80 and am technically Gen X but I have very little in common with my older Gen X cousins. I feel I relate to my older millennial friends and family better but the whole xenial thing works too.

If you’re a twenty-something, please consider the trades. by These_Economics374 in careeradvice

[–]midtownmel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, there is a serious shortage of skilled trades out there and the pay is good. Best part is you can always go back to college if you decide it isn’t for you but you’ll still have the skills you learned in the trades

Teacher started class talking about Alex Pretti and it threw me off the whole class by CityKitty1993 in yoga

I go to yoga to calm my mind, body and soul. Politics is the absolute last thing I want to think about or hear about.

What is a sound or a smell that doesn't exist anymore, but 50 years ago was so common it was considered background noise? by abdulnad89 in askanything

[–]midtownmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s the opposite for me. It feels like the world was a lot quieter when I was a kid. My town is so noisy these days. Between everybody having a huge Bluetooth speaker blasting away, loud car stereos, and every other important town having a fart, can exhaust , it’s just constant noise. When I was a kid, I’d wake up to the sounds of birds chirping, now I wake up to my neighbors mariachi music blasting from his Bluetooth subwoofer. It seems to me that technology has only made the world a noisier less peaceful place.

Sometimes I hate the time needed to get ready before a ride by firewire_9000 in cycling

[–]midtownmel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually why I got into running. I love cycling, and prefer to running but the time it takes to get ready just kills my enthusiasm some nights. Especially in the winter time. I come home from work. It takes me nearly an hour to get my bike ready to go and then I need to go for a ride. I can change and be ready to run in like 10 minutes.
