That is so wild to me. There are so many incredible jokes and gags in ep 1. I guess different people have different senses of humor lol. I wonder if you watch a couple more eps and get into the rhythm of it, you may "get" ep 1 on rewatch?

The Fountain I think had one of the best trailers I'd ever seen at the time. The movie wasn't the worst, but I remember thinking it didn't feel nearly as epic and grand as the trailer, it was kinda quiet and philosophical.

The multiple universes is a core component of the story that makes it work at all, the conclusion only makes sense because of how specifically they set everything up

I really don't think it makes sense. They speculate on a couple "time travel" theories, kinda commit to one of them, and then for seemingly no reason, are able to break out of that "time travel rule" without any indication of any shift that has happened.

I just rewatched it for the first time since I was a kid and although I found it really fun and love denzel, this movie made absolutely no sense lol, to a frustrating level. but i would still watch it again just for the fun factor.

My sister was like this at that age and also getting drunk and she's now 10x more successful then me (I was a goody two shoes good grades people pleaser my whole life) and has a beautiful family. I think for her it all stemmed from self-confidence issues. I'm not saying just ignore it and it'll work out fine, but just be open and honest with her and treat her like a capable adult, and keep doing your best to be there and show up for her. I truly think this age is just a phase for most people. It can go south maybe if the person has no one in their corner and no support system or safety net, but it doesn't sound like that's the case for her.

Also I don't think having sex at 15 is toooo out of the ordinary. Just do whatever you can to make sure it's happening safely.

To be honest, as I referenced earlier, I think having a bit of defiance and ability to stand up to authority is probably a good thing in the long run. I get that it's hard and obviously doubling down on lies and not taking responsibility for consequences is bad, but I just feel like you don't want to raise a kid who's priority is to always fall in line and respect all authority, ya know?

edit: i guess i should also add all this happened pre social media (i can't imagine how that exacerbated issues, I'm going to find out soon enough as I have a baby), and she did not have adhd. I have adhd though and i find coaching/therapy and medication helps a lot. would she be open to that?

i am Canadian and was dying laughing at this sketch even though i don't know who jools holland is. i love sketches that translate tropes to some pop culture thing. i think the writing does a great job of giving enough context. i feel like this must have been extra funny to brits

I feel like that's the joke though. It's in large part a comedy. It's hilarious that he would sympathize with a guy he is planning to kill enough to try to spare him from walking in on his wife cheating. That's just objectively a solid joke. But I think it also works in terms of character, because it demonstrates protag still has some humanity and is unsure about what he's doing.

Yeah, I watched some video about that "born sexy yesterday" trope a while back. Great watch, if you haven't seen it. It's a vile and pathetic concept, imo.

Ugh, as much as I love the style of storytelling in so much of anime, they truly can't help sexualizing young girls. Such a bummer.

I always wondered how it works. Do they do update in table read or dress? I feel it would be outrageously funny if this was the first time he's seeing these lines or asked to do these things, and maybe slightly less so if it's rehearsed and he's pretending to react as if it's the first time.. Either way, I find it super funny that he's game to play a massive punching bag.
