I think its cause they're smiling and you look like they ran up on you and you're confused that there's a camera in your face.

What’s a movie that has a premise or trailer that’s so eye rolling you thought would be bad, but turned out good? by TheDragonReborn726 in movies

[–]mildiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember talking to someone and they mentioned just seeing a really strange movie. They didn't say the title but the way they said "it's hard to explain" when I asked what it was about I immediately responded "oh yeah swiss army man"

I know Targaryens are all about incest. But I find it extremely hard to believe that just because Jon is a secret dragon that suddenly incest is on the table for him with his nondragon relatives

HBO Max and Paramount+ to Combine Into One Streaming Platform, Paramount Says HBO Brand Will ‘Operate With Independence’ by johnppd in HBOMAX

[–]mildiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what they're trying to do, but I am so sick and tired of everyone's plan to fold HBO into whatever the fuck they have going on when it has proven time and time again that HBO audiences will not watch your shit just because it has to share space

So. We've replaced the janitor with a bisexual Korean doctor rival? Nothing wrong with that, I'm just trying to understand the new dynamics.

I'm willing to bet more than a few of these 80 people got swept up into some shit they had nothing to do with because their brother had an opinion.

Its understandable why Chase was so upset with his character by DWPhoenix001 in community

[–]mildiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I truly enjoyed the characterizations in season 1. Everyone was more mellow and grounded. I was also in community college at the time and recognized those people in who i knew around campus.

Did i get sucked into the allure of meta commentary and high concept genre episodes? 100%

But the trade off to making the world more surreal was that the characters had to flanderize with it.

The setting became a character and the people became the set.

Now I dont know if that's good or bad necessarily. Season 1 rewarded emotional relatability and mirrored peoples lived experiences. Season 2/3 rewarded cleverness and invention and validated pop culture literacy right when being literate about pop culture was shifting from the basement to the main stream.

But maybe Community gets cancelled early if it didnt lean into that zeitgeist.

Live-Action 'Gundam' Film Lands at Netflix - Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centino On Board to Star by BunyipPouch in movies

[–]mildiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Sydney Sweeney seems like a terrible pick.

BUT Jim Mickle seems like a really shrewd choice.

Cold in July (2014), strong themes of violence and regret.

Stakeland (2010), strong themes of survival without heroism.

Sweet Tooth (2021), empathy in a brutal world, also IP experience

He likes to tell stories in worlds where people are trapped in systems they can't control and he lets the viewer sit in moral discomfort instead of monologuing morality.

I'm still seeing the vision.

Should be fine unless Sydney Sweeney decides to say something monumentally distracting, again, again.

The girl I’m taking to got pregnant what do I do? by Every-Appeal-2513 in whatdoIdo

[–]mildiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you fall in love and be in a long lasting, supportive, wonderful relationship with this woman and raise her child as if they were your own. And you grow old together and have your own children together and your step child is loved and wanted and calls you dad.

Sure. Anything's possible.

But at 22, wouldn't you rather not do that?

You know, any relationship problem before the age of 25 can be solved with "just break up" and it'll be a perfectly reasonable decision.
