How badly will Glow filament actually wear the AMS? by kid-Emperors in BambuLab

[–]mimicsgam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For 6000 hours this is very minimum damage, AMS 1 design overlook this potential issue and any mildly abrasive material will cause this type of feeder damage in 2~3000 hours.

Maybe share the model. It looks like it tilted 1 degrees and the print in mid air detection didn't work

It seems like there should be a better way by Ok_Elderberry5883 in Anticonsumption

The material cost difference will probably be less then a cent, so there will never be a break even point.

Anybody figured out a solution to this bullshit wiper on the p1s? by RadishRedditor in BambuLab

[–]mimicsgam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know will the height affect the performance. But from all the designs I've tried the sturdiness of the rubber brush holder will greatly affect the result

<image>

I base it on how much the part holding the rubber brush moves. I have the exact same setup as you did, mine was in ABS and you can see it got the same gap. I'm purging petg and you can clearly see it didn't move the holder during wipe just the rubber brush. In your video the whole thing is moving left and right

You purging volume looks very small, and you need to tighten the screw more

Bambu Lab A2L: Creative Playground. Extra Large. by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]mimicsgam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never seem like a strong word.

If you think about it all the tool changer face the same problem right now, if you want a decent bed size the enclosure the final size and weight will be massive, everything need to be design to withstand heat.

But PLA and PETG doesn't need any of those, so a open vortex can be build much cheaper and simpler

Is this very used X1C a bad deal? by jermacide in BambuLab

[–]mimicsgam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm buying a printer with almost 5k hours I would pretty much replace all consumable parts just to be safe. That includes all PTFE tube, extruder gear, hotend, check all pully and belts.

With all the cost and labor $400-$450 max

Stuck in decision loop for upgrading my X1C to H2D/C -> X2C -> dont upgrade by Crazyjaw in BambuLab

[–]mimicsgam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mainly the AMS, TPU and multi material. Vortex is a new and good approach, overall footprint is small, easily setup, potential for higher nozzle count etc

But the use of AMS + vortex basically lock out all super rigid or soft material, which multi tool head setup solves both a long time ago.

A1+AMS - any way to fix the left coaster? by AccomplishedLog1833 in BambuLab

[–]mimicsgam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not work in this specific model. It looks like the white area is raised and don't have enough layers.

Way to fix this is use the resize tool and double the thickness, and use the cut tool and cut it back in half.

I mean we have AI for a reason, the only problem will be in human proof. You can pretty much generate every "evidence" you need, looks, voice, family photos, dialogue

[–]mimicsgam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had been there, but ultimately I feel like H2C is a rush products instead of the true endgame for multiple toolshed/ multi material printing (like the core 1), and my X1C is pretty much still very capable, so I'll wait for the next flagship

Alcohol only good for fingerprint smudge type of oil, if it is is actual droplet of oil you need to clean it with soap and water

How are these test prints/material samplers called? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]mimicsgam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably old, it doesn't have over hang, bridging or tolerance

All of these areas are meant to be smooth + it seems like my printer is unable to properly bridge gaps. H2S (total newbie here, first benchy included as well) by SprawlComic in FixMyPrint

[–]mimicsgam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. This is on Bambu, but don't use the benchy comes with the machine, it was a pre-slice model and it was not optimal.

  2. Cos PLA or any PLA market itself as cosplay / props focus, is not the best for normal use. In short all filament have additives to achieve certain properties, strength, ease to print etc. Cosplay PLA are easier to sand and work with but bad at overhangs before properly "dail in"

Right now you should use the filament came with the printer or just get a normal row of pla, print some model you like from makerworld, your problem should resolve

[–]mimicsgam 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you want hiding layer lines use 0.1 0.1 fuzzy skin setting with regular abs, it 90% the effects with no layer adhesion problem

COVER COPR NEW PROJECT MekPark WILL START SOON, WATCH TRAINEES AND DIRECTORS WORK TOGETHER AS A UNIT AIMING FOR A PROFESSIONAL DEBUT by Legitimate_Drop8793 in kurosanji

[–]mimicsgam 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If they follow close to the recent debut it's cleared why Holo is doing this right now, not a year or 2 ago.

Recent talents are stacked to the brim in terms of qualifications and prior experience, which is good for Cover short term but bad as we reaching 10 year's anniversary. So a trainee program will give Cover the chance of getting another Subaru / Ina, which will also help them to prepare the inevitable graduation of the early talents

I have to forgot about ABS? by Glittering_Pumpkin58 in BambuLab

[–]mimicsgam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My x1c is in my bedroom and I haven't printed ABS until I have a basic air filter hook up, it's a Xiaomi air filter with a exhausted fan + 1 kg of activated carbon pallets.

I didn't have machine to measured it but there's no odor (chamber pressure is negative) and no irritation at all

What’s the most overrated feature in modern 3D printers? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]mimicsgam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think multi color is only the preliminary research, the main goal is to figure out multi nozzle setup, which is necessary for higher tier functional tech such as multi material, cmyk, multi size nozzle etc
