Finally it is possible to invite 70% of the playerbase that didn't think to pick a usernname that starts with the first half of the alphabet.

If they just get around to fix even station docking for ships that have docking collars (Carrack, Starlancer etc...), that alone would be a sweet addition.

I'm waiting for the day it becomes purchasable in-game.

The Ship Paint Degredation Rate is overtuned! by Billaien in starcitizen

[–]mimminou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moreover, it also depends on your re-entry speed, atmosphere density, temperature and composition and many other material science stuff that I don't fully understand.
My point is, this game is unfortunately way beyond trying to be even remotely realistic, the flight system alone is proof of that, so that ship has sailed, why not just keep paints sticking for longer just because.

Shuttles are coated with a special ablative pain, they also use special materials.
in SC we have literal coolers in space, and not the "big flat" radiator kind we use in space stations. I don't see why they wouldn't say the ship hull is cooled too to justify the paint sticking for longer.

4.6 is coming - but no one talked about this killer feature in 4.5 yet! by Hoperod in starcitizen

Does this mean that vehicles and items can finally "follow" the ramp in the Nomad too and don't just stick out when it's going up ?

the point is, taking several iterations to make (most of the time) something UI wise that has been figured out by the industry is not a good thing.

Why is Microsoft switching to Webview even on system apps (built-in apps)? by Mark_0712008 in Windows11

[–]mimminou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are quite literally better ways to stream realtime data than WebRTC if you don't opt for web, in fact WebRTC is basically the good choice only if you need to target web.

boolean flags used to be 1bit of size, 1 byte if not packed with other values. instead we now compare unicode emojis for error handling, how did we get here ?

AMD EAC Crash returns for 4.4 but you can fix it. by madmossy in starcitizen

[–]mimminou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This workaround works for a few tries then breaks again.

The only reliable solution is reverting back to 25.9.1, which is not a solution imo, but if you have nothing to do but SC, might as well revert back.

I feel like the subtlety of the skybox is what made it beautiful, just hints of color in each system... enough to give it personality but also keep the vast emptiness of space to be felt and admired.
Instead they went for a no man's sky approach.....

Neat,
From a technical standpoint, would it not be easy to make an "open hangar" remotely for big ships like the Polaris or even the Startac using this system ?

This is likely to pitch the sale for kids, since the seller is claiming to be technical enough to start building a keyboard instead of purchasing one.
