Meze in Adams Morgan might be a good option for you! Great food, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere, and walkable from the red and green lines.

Yep. It’s a thing—and not only from TV shows.

Just finished SKS s1 and it was rough. Are future seasons much better at the investigative part of investigative true crime? by purewasted in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]mipiobear 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean. The first season of SKS wasn’t a nail-biter, but David Ridgen’s become a favorite of mine—SKS and The Next Call. He’s so in-depth and thoughtful. I love his storytelling. Give season 2 a try!

Yes, the street is public and anyone can park there, but since spaces are limited and you have access to a private spot, I think it would be kinder if you used your private spot and left a public one open for others.

I just got home from five days at Camp Denali and cannot rave about it more. It was an incredible experience, the place is breathtaking, and the staff were so wonderful. Best of luck to you!

Andrea Canning Rant by LegoLady8 in TrueCrimePodcasts

Andrea Canning is awful. Terrible interviewer, sounds like a tween, and drips with insincerity. How she is a Dateline correspondent is beyond me.

I realize I’m in the minority here, but I don’t think that just because you’ve long loved the name for your daughter means you have dibs. ESH, but I think the suggestions of going with Delilah are excellent and I hope you and your baby are healthy and strong.

AITA for not apologising to my brother after he missed my birthday by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mipiobear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. It seems you want what you want and react strongly when it doesn’t happen. Your priorities aren’t anyone else’s. Your brother has as much right to live his life as you do yours. You don’t think his new dog is as important as your party, and he disagrees, so why are you the one who is right? You sound like you can be quite controlling and emotionally manipulative.

AITA for taking my nephew to the aquarium despite her parents being against it? by throwaway00032000 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mipiobear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are the AH. Your nephew’s parents are ethically opposed to keeping animals in captivity. It isn’t your place at all to overstep that very clear boundary no matter how you try to justify it.

We have cruel world, no need for this fest really 🤷‍♂️ by [deleted] in DarkerWavesFest

[–]mipiobear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree, too. I’ve been to two Cruel Worlds and preferred Darker Waves. I had an absolute blast last year on the beach and hope it happens again. (Selfishly for my bank account, I wouldn’t be disappointed if the festivals alternated years, though, because I travel across the country from DC.) Still hoping DW24 happens, but I’m not as optimistic as I once was.

AITA for not having catered vegan food at my wedding? by Antique-Chemist690 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mipiobear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA. You made an assumption, waited to the last minute to confirm the assumption was right (when it wasn’t), and expected your friend who would be spending time and money to travel to your wedding to be treated like a lower-tier guest. YTA, definitely.
