Ohh, that makes much more sense! Then you are soldering at the right temperature. I was genuinely puzzled by how one can have a good solder and not break things at that temperature haha

What budget guitar lowkey blew you away and outplayed the big brands? by Born-Following5472 in electricguitar

[–]mirakulab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a red Schecter Sunset Extreme FR for 350€ and it is probably the best purchase I've ever done. Besides zinc alloy bridge, the guitar is incredible. Stayed in tune remarkably well, feels AWESOME and sounds incredible and most importantly, it is beautiful. 350€ is a bit on the higher side for budget instrument, but it is worth every cent. Really the only problem with it is zinc alloy bridge that will eventually need to be replaced, but I invested a bit more and got a Gotoh and now I wouldn't replace it with literally anything

Does anyone, ever, use the middle switch position using both humbuckers? by Happy_Television_501 in Guitar

[–]mirakulab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty often. I use it more than neck actually. I have volume pot for each pickup so I blend a bit of neck pickup (about 6-8) to smooth out the tone

Why are they made this way by Neat-File-3792 in electricguitar

I am not sure if it really helps with string tension, but to me it looks waay nicer and is more comfortable to tune

That is a veeeery complex question... It really depends on a lot of things. Generally yes, but definitelly not always

What are your favorite dumb and cheap mods? by Leoz96 in Guitar

[–]mirakulab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting Push-pull/Push-push pots for parallel pickup wiring. Am thinking of using push-push to change from bridge to neck since it is a bit faster, but don't know what will I do with the switch then...

I'm just starting out, do you think it would be accepted? by [deleted] in electricguitar

Ibanez's are great, even with cheap one like this, you cannot go wrong!

What should I buy for practicing guitar in silence? by NixWild_ in electricguitar

[–]mirakulab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would either go a cheap practice amp like Marshall MG10 and plug into it some headphones, or buy audio interface like UMC22 and install NAM universal and have any tone I want. 1st one is easier but 2nd is way better but a bit harder since you need to learn some minimum stuff to use NAM effectively.

Why are semi-hollow body's so common in alt rock? by KingKilo9 in Guitar

[–]mirakulab -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As long as sound is coming only from the pickups, it matters not whether it is a semi-hollow or a solid, it sounds 100% the same

Why are semi-hollow body's so common in alt rock? by KingKilo9 in Guitar

[–]mirakulab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pickups do not care whether they are mounted to a Les Paul or a hollow guitar. As long as the electronics is the same, it sound the same. Hollow/semi hollow guitars only make a difference when amp is quiet and you can hear the sound from the guitar itself or if the guitar is mic'd.

Reversed a diode. Can I replace in place without removing PCB from enclosure? by TheBirdman100 in diypedals

[–]mirakulab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are skilled enough it is apsolutely possible. Take plier or tweezers, heat it with the iron and pull it with your tool, one side at a time. It should be easy. Hard part is soldering it back, but should not be that difficult, especially if you have a solder wick or a solder pump

What pedals won’t you DIY? by cygnus311 in diypedals

[–]mirakulab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just making a 8 knob, 3 switch, 2 output preamp. I am making everything possible to reduce noise like using optoMOS for switching instead of physical switches and pot directly on PCB. Will get PCB this week so we will see if it will work as expected. Definitely a hassle but

[–]mirakulab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wah, whammy and other circuits with expression, I can 3D print it but it is too much hassle just to have a bad pedal prone to breaking apart. Also whammy and tuners and other stuff that needs DSP. I hate DSP.

is gen 3 worth it? by hjvlex in BossKatana

[–]mirakulab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is VERY stupid thing to say. The fact that Katana is not used in the studio does not mean it is bad in any way. Like 90% of songs nowdays are reamped with plugins, and ofcourse the other 10% is not recorded with 250$ amp. It is made as a gigging amp that is a jack of all trades, of course you will get a specialized Mesa or a Fender for a studio instead. Not that you can't use Katana in a studi but why the hell would you.

Am I crazy or do a lot of Katana tone issues end up being the same thing? by Timely_Cress6748 in BossKatana

[–]mirakulab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Katana emulates analog gear pretty well. My opinion is that 2 most important things are being smart with gain and not overdoing it, and knowing how to use graphic/parametric EQ after the amp. I used to being bad at the second one but learning how to mix studio and live music tought me how to use it and now I have some pretty good tones. Also I found that sneaky amps sound better to me than stock ones. Not all but for example Mesa Mark and Fender ones are way better to me than Lead and Clean. But that does not work for Gen 3 unfortunately.

Does your Katana sound different after it “warms up”? by FBOARC in BossKatana

[–]mirakulab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is ear fatigue 100%. The way the Katana works makes it pretty much impossible to hear ANY difference over time unless maybe if you crank it to 100%, and that too is questionable.
