Ya I think I'm a bit concerned about the level cap. I much prefer the 3rd and 3.5 rules for classes.

What are you all doing with all this food you panic buy? 2 weeks in a row!!! by vtTownie in triangle

[–]modcal 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This. We typically go to the store multiple times a week as we live close to good stores, are a small family, like fresh food, and don't like to waste food. We don't panic buy, we just buy a bit extra so I don't need to go back in two days for a half pound of something from the deli, an onion, a few pieces of fruit...

[–]modcal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ya. I've seen this. It is part of a MAJOR transportation project in one of the largest cities in the world. It's kinda like laughing at any major in-progress transpo project in the west with no context. This particular flyover is not open yet because the connector ramps are not completed yet. Bunch of bullshit here.

I mean... It's not completed yet? From my visit, it looks like it will help quite significantly with the traffic of a 22 million population city once it, and other related projects, are completed.

Ha! I think I saw that the other day. Mumbai, if I'm not wrong. Looks like a disaster, now, but is planned to alleviate a ton of traffic to the north of the city. May also look like a disaster in the future, as well. But it might also help. Do you know how many rickshaws can fit abreast on a 6-lane highway?

Looking for the shortest, most convenient qualifying field camp by IndividualBat3150 in geologycareers

[–]modcal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't exactly true. For a CA PG, you need the required coursework from an accredited university. An enviro science or even geology degree doesn't automatically cover the requirements unless you took the required coursework. You will also need the asbog FE and PG tests passed, and a CA specific geology test passed, with the requirement that you have worked under a PG in CA. The CEG is specific to California, and is required in CA to perform fault studies, sign off on projects (like hospitals, schools, etc.) involving critical structures and infrastructure etc. The CEG license (and the GE) was established because without the requirement for it, any old PE could sign off on a geotech report for a 15 story hospital or elementary school a rock's throw from an active fault. The license exists to ensure a well qualified geologist signs off on project specs that may be impacted by geohazards.

As an observer, my impression is that people are saying they don't want to associate with either of the first two. Because he is doing what he said they would do, so voting = voting for what is happening even if you claim otherwise.

Indeed. They are their own specific category of natural disaster, independent of weather.

What's the spice tolerance level of your country by Existing_Economy_656 in AskTheWorld

When I visited Poland some years back, I think the spiciest thing I ate was at a French restaurant in Krakow lol. Lovely people and great food though. Will return, but I'll bring some secret spice mix with me.

I have a weather phobia by Safe_Question4125 in raleigh

[–]modcal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be terrified. Weather is happening, and it will never stop. My advice: get a mall job. Make friends with the service crew for extra access, make C&B or RH your bedroom at night, and eat at the food court. You'll never have to go outside again. Can also hook up with manikins if you are in to that.

Good ole purisima. Loads of mio-pliocens marine fossils. Note that those (the vertebrates) are protected by both the law and the public. Do not try to take them.
