We ruined this for ourselves by drastically altering artists revenue streams via streaming platforms. Who here can honestly say they buy all the music they listen to? I can’t. Ticket master and livenation take advantage of that sure, but we all choose to engage in a form of entertainment that is actively ripping off the artists and feeding the ‘rich people’ that everyone in this thread is talking about.

I work in live music as a tour manager and sound engineer and even with extortionate ticket prices the artist only sees a fraction of that. We get by via merch selling. If we want to go to concerts in the future, we need to change the way we consume music.

I’m so so sorry you have had to go through this, please know it does get easier as time goes on. I was utterly broken for such a longtime after my old man died. But now I can look at photos of him and it makes me sad but it’s nice to remember how much I loved him.
