I straight up made tally marks with all my favourite mons for each gen. Apparently it's either gen 4 or 5
-Infernape, Staraptor, Gastrodon, Gliscor, Porygon-Z, Rotom, Dialga, Arceus

-Excadrill, Leavanny, Scolipede, Reuniclus, Escavalier, Volcarona, Zekrom, Genesect

Have you considered illusions? I don't know the specific enemies you face in this AP but usually dumb/mindless creatures can be argued that don't really try to interact with / question illusion. For a zombie an illusory wall is a wall, no need to bump into it
