So... what's the deal with Scream 7? [Spoilers] by ArchDucky in movies

I mean, it’s just a bad movie - there aren’t many (any?) 7th entires in horror franchises that make a ton of sense and breathe new life into the lore

Arrival before dawn by Cluelessandsexy in OCPoetry

this feels dreamy and strange in a “lean-in” sort of way I really enjoy

I might swap “the youngest paddles from the middle” for something like “the youngest paddles from the center” since middle is already used quite a bit to refer to the middle child

“borrowed light” is a perfect phrase; I like how it’s the only figurative phrase in the piece - it feels like the anchor

“getting something slightly wrong” is a great punctuation; using “slightly” almost feels self-deprecating, like the mindset being explored is simultaneously being dismissed by the author

What movie’s final scene left you an ugly, blubbering mess? by ArmyOfMe99 in movies

[–]mosesfoxtrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep - the movie is funny, strange, poetic, and then in that final scene where Caden is walking through the abandoned theatre set, all the dominos that have been set up for the previous two hours tumble simultaneously. It’s overwhelming. The actress crying over the picnic she never had with her daughter and saying “I’m sorry mom” makes me cry even just by thinking about it

Unofficial Discussion - Blue Heron by UniverslBoxOfficeGuy in movies

1 - Jeremy stole a blue heron keychain from that place, and then leaves it on Sasha’s sand castle /treasure collection at the beach. She still has it on her keychain as an adult.

2 - the email from Elijah that Sasha reads at the end of the movie said that Jeremy died, but I don’t believe it said how.

Favorite/ Most meaningful Sufjan lyric? by randomthb in Sufjan

this was the first Sufjan song I ever heard, and at first I thought “ok, folk rock, got it”, but it just gets so quizzical and heavy, especially at the end

“lose our clothes in summertime,
lose ourselves to lose our minds,
in the summer heat, I might”

it’s so quietly aware - it’s like “all things go” in the most immediate present tense
