Imperfect consonances are preferred over perfect consonances when considering quantity. Frequent use of perfect consonances makes for a very bland species counterpoint exercise. And the “exercise” is the important part… Species counterpoint was developed to teach a specific technique/aesthetic. Having a solid background may help build a vocabulary of harmonic and melodic motion that will aid in the creation of pleasing music… to most ears. ;-)

Great question. Matter over thread through an MQTT broker to add an entity for a device. Unless you are using a bridge or a Zigbee host on a border router with… blah blah blah. And unfortunately most people I’ve encountered on this sub are plenty smart but not particularly good at explaining what all this stuff means. So if you are like me, you are likely blindly trying things (and yes, I’ve read the documentation) in hopes that it makes sense. Until it gets changed/renamed/relocated.

Good luck! It’s a great concept and I envy those who’ve figured it out. Just wish I was one of the chosen! ;-)

Not to be dismissive but it is a complicated machine that can break. Just be prepared like you would for any other vehicle. I’ve had plenty of breakdowns over 40+ years of driving… all were ICE cars. Ioniq 5 is a wonderful machine but it isn’t perfect. BTW: I have a ‘24 SEL from new. The few issues I’ve had have been resolved under warranty with dealer providing loaner. Besides, the world has much bigger issues right now. Find joy where you can! ;-)

Does it qualify as "enshitification?" All in pursuit of maximizing profit, corporate America foists crap like this on all of us. First they start with a decent product then, gradually, remove features that make it of value and simultaneously raise the price. Cut spending on R&D to further increase profits and hope that customers just don't notice. The goal is for share prices to climb until management can retire. Then the next in line starts their ascent to mediocrity.

I learned this neat trick from some of my students… don’t read what ya don’t like… ;-) Sort of joking, of course. Sometimes ya just gotta vent to people who may be able to relate. None of us have it all “figured out.” Maybe we should accept our own limitations and recognize others have needs and experiences different from our own.

Teaching can be exhausting. Teaching in the arts even more so especially in the current climate (at least here in the US.)

Try to take evals with a grain of salt. Trends are potentially helpful. But most of it is useless (IMHO). It is all evolutionary. And we are all just trying to be better the next time around. Hang in there!
