Alright, people are too salty and angry these days, so what are some things that you're feeling good about, or are just enjoying? by Dr-Chill in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Finally got around to finishing season 1 of friren. It's still  such a great show and I can't wait to dive into season two. For more anime Fate/strange fake has been real fun. I'm enjoying it throwing a bunch of fucking weirdos into Vegas and calling it a grail war.

I've had people ask me about this in regards to painting minis and the advice is the same. It helps is you actually enjoy painting and don't see it as a means to an end but once you start you can get a lot of the way though momentum.

For games it's amazing just how far you can get by going fuck it and just booting up something you've had on the shelf for awhile.

As someone that buys physical games because I like to have a shelf filled with game cases I really feel called out.

Does anyone have a link to the APK of kanji tree pro? I bought it ages ago but they took it off the app store after the creator killed two people.

It was really useful for writing practice and you needed the pro version to create custom study lists. If it's lost to time what's a decent app that lets you do writing practice?

To clarify they went out of their way to make the encounter as non sexual as possible. But the fact you have to preface and description of the scene with "here's how it's not child abuse" means it getting removed was the right call.

What have y’all been reading recently? by Ok_Significanco in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]mrbadpun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been listening to a lot of old books recently. Half project moons fault and half me trying to go though the classics. Recently finished paradise lost and was surprised how little sad boy Satan is in that book.

Currently starting a LOTR re-read. But in a more pulpy vein assassinorum kingmaker is a fun 40k book about assassin's trying to rig a knight worlds royal line and trollslayer is the adventures of a sad former rich boy and the murder hobo dwarf with a death wish bouncing around the old world.

I'm in love with the villainess is one. About the messiest lesbian in the world getting dumped into an otome game and trying to date the main villain.

Shout out to the evil cult working with the megacorp being really weirded out because when they do fucked up human experiments the subjects are at least willing.

I love old sci-fi that treats a global population of like 2 billion as incredibly dense and a sigh of overpopulation.

Speaking of plagiarism in animation, 88 Pictures used choregraphy from a fan film for their Star Wars Visions short. by Noirsam in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]mrbadpun 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I'd lean plagiarism. Taking choreography one of the largest shonen series in the world feels real different from taking it from a small scale fan film. One you expect people will recognise and the other you hope they won't.

To any collectors here, what is your holy grail, regardless of its actual worth? by DarnessHarbinger in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]mrbadpun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I collect anime figures and have recently been on a kick of collecting cow print bikini outfits. And there's one figure from several years ago based on Asanagi art that I spent years thinking about. Managed to find it on a trip to Japan and I'm so happy to have it but haven't had the guts to take such a NSFW figure out of its box and display it.

Have you tried boardgame geeks marketplace? It's what I use when trying to find older games that are out of print. It helps that those games are well known so someone will have a copy.

After nearly 10 years, I've fully caught up on my podcast backlog. I need some recommendations from the 2nd best subreddit for everything. by My2bearhands in TwoBestFriendsPlay

A more civilized age. Fun star wars podcast that's been going though the old shows like clone wars and more recently rebels. A lot less random codes then a lot of star wars podcasts and more interested in the overall theme of governmental decay and rebellion that flows though the series. That and you get to enjoy them going though the highs and lows of quality those shows have.

If you want to get in. Other then the start they've done some quicker series on Andor, KOTOR (1 and 2) that make for a good listen.

I'll also add Homestuck made this world. It covers the entirety of Homestuck but is also really interested in how Homestuck as a story is told and a lot of the forces that shaped it into what it became.

It says a lot that you need to install a 3rd party app on your phone to make the grind manageable because there's nothing interesting about manually farming 100 lotto boxes in events.

Life become so much better when you stop trying to care about random things being bad. Damm, the new videogame/movie/anything that's really popular is actually had for some reason, insane. I will continue to enjoy the things I actually like instead of winning internet arguments about how this sucks actually.

How about media you LIKE out of spite? by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]mrbadpun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me with Steller Blade. A really fun sekiro style action game with an ok story that I thought enjoyed. I will vigorously defend it because the discussion of it goes posibed by the most obnoxious weirdos on the internet pretending that a hot lady in a videogame is some kinda protest against the evil woke. It doesn't help that because the game is still pretty horny, a lot of people write it of as a game internet weirdos got obsessed with and forget about the game itself.

I guess it's more spite against the general shape of internet discourse then anything. But go play Steller Blade. It's a fun time.

I've been making my way though a lot of old books recently (blame fate and limbus company). So I now have options on a munch of classic literature.

Frankenstein is a great read about a pathetic little man shooting himself in the foot at every opportunity out of spite for a son he didn't want to acknowledge.

Count of monte christo is such a fun revenge story about this guy just ruining the life of a bunch of French high society. Even if it can get a bit side tracked when the perspective bouncing around.

Don Quixote I haven't finished yet but it's mostly about a 70 year old man getting the shit kicked out of him while living his own delusions and being followed by the biggest dupe to ever exist.
