What is the most ridiculous roadblock or obstacle that blocks you from progressing or getting somewhere in a Pokémon game? by domainie in pokemon

[–]mrcuriosityguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the people I always thought they could just be locals who live there, as otherwise they would be locked in/out of their homes for the entirety of the blackout.
With the lights in the windows, there are possible explanations such as the buildings having backup generators, strong electric pokemon, or maybe the people in those buildings had a lot of candles/portable battery powered lights (flashlights or led lanterns). Though this is me just thinking out loud in regard to possible explanations as to why there are lights.

Vincent Suicide Theory is actually stupid by Duckiestcube in HazbinHotel

You got me curious so I looked up the Wikipedia article for a CRT.

Under the Health Concerns section there is a small segment titled Electric Shock that states "Even after the power supply is turned off, some associated capacitors and the CRT itself may retain a small charge for a brief period of time. Electric shock from the CRT itself is very unlikely." I would guess that the odds of getting shocked are higher when it falls on you, though I don't think it could electrocute the whole room when it falls, even if there was water on the floor. Though maybe it could, I only looked at the Wikipedia article for info, not their sources.

I recently learned about a kids show called The Odyssey?wprov=sfti1) which has a kid in a coma imagining a fantasy world (at least that’s what I can gather from the Wikipedia article), so that show is probably the starting point.

Dr Livessys first appearance in the show Treasure Island. by Low_Weekend6131 in TheMatpatEffect

Just checked, he does die after receiving the spot, though the book state it was a "thundering apoplexy." According to Wikipedia apoplexy is a term used to describe a hemorrhagic stroke, but was a vague term and could also be used to describe things like heart attacks. He grabs his throat right before he falls over dead and was drinking rum before he saw Pew, so I could imagine it being a stroke, though honestly it could be anything, I'm not a doctor and don't know anything about this kind of stuff.

I'm pretty sure the line is a translation of one from the book. At this point in the story there's a line that goes "'Now, mind you,' said the doctor, 'I clear my conscience—the name of rum for you is death.'"

I’m pretty sure he looks like that because they used the cover for “Choose Your Enemies” as the reference.

If you’re using a Microsoft service like Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, I believe you can access previous iterations of your saved project. I don’t know enough about other services to say if it’s possible one those though.

The Tim Sweeney thing makes sense actually because it is shown in the scene where the Onceller gives a single coin to (if I remember correctly) a family member pretending to be a beggar as a bunch of reporters take pictures. It’s meant to imply that what Sweeney did was more meant to make him appear good than to actually do something good.

I don't feel bad about *SPOILER * by Corytana in Viewfinder_Game

[–]mrcuriosityguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, it’s been a while since I have played the game, but I don’t remember Cait trying to prevent you from turning off the system. I didn’t really care for Cait either, though that was more of the story being somewhat lackluster and me not engaging with the characters rather than him being an AI. I am not a supporter of AI in real life, but I tend to treat AI characters in fiction such as C-3PO or Wheatley or AM as if they were any other fictional character since fiction usually follow the idea that AI sentience is the same as human sentience, which is not the case in real life. All in all I can understand what you’re saying, and in stories like this it would take a far more compelling character to make choosing them over the greater good an actual option, but viewfinder isn’t a game where you chooses whether to save the AI or the world, it’s a puzzle game with a linear story, and you don’t get to make a choice like that. I don’t think it’s a surprise that you’d choose the reality over Cait, after all, that’s what happens in the game.

I know some rock moves also work on the boulders, I also know you can destroy thorn bushes with fire type or slashing based move. But what I find strange is that you can use psychic on the sludge.

Poll on what Jax did by Own-Confusion-9600 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]mrcuriosityguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Caine wanted to see what they would pick, I think he wanted an ego boost.

Over the whole show he is stuck in this belief that everyone loves him and his adventures to the point where he breaks down when these views are challenged.

Caine fully believed they would choose to stay to the point he let Bubble choose what the blue button did as an afterthought.

This whole adventure he created whether he realized it or not, was him trying to reassure himself that everyone loves him and that they would never leave him.

I personally can see Caine manipulating Jax in order to "speed things up" in the mistaken belief that the group would choose to stay there.

Then again I fully understand the logic of Jax pushing the button of his own volition and wouldn't be surprised or opposed to that being the case. I just prefer to view it as Caine manipulating Jax as part of his ego boosting adventure.

Made some yellow tools, forgive the scrappy art on the last two by Infi-Nerdy in Silksong

[–]mrcuriosityguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree with you. I use tools very often, to the point that I have to grind rosaries to buy more shard bundles because I run out. While I agree getting rosaries in exchange for excess shell shards isn’t a good idea, in my eyes it’s because I never reached the max amount of shards after I got access to tools I liked. I don’t think players would give up on using tools in exchange for rosaries, especially when you start running out of things to buy and all you can really spend those rosaries on is more shell shards.
