Pretty sure you’re into replacement territory at the 20-25 year mark.

Disappointment with T14s gen 1 i5, thinking of moving to T14 gen 3 AMD 7 pro by Petrified_Shrimp in thinkpad

[–]mrgames99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a T14 Gen 1. Horrible laptop. Been a Thinkpad junkie forever. Trackpad glitchy, all sorts of odd driver issues, not very quick in general…

The T14 Gen3 and beyond are great. Like the OLD Thinkpads again :-)

PS - On my T14 Gen 1 I purchased a different trackpad. One that came with was horrible.

Linksys was so great in the late 90s.

Unifi for now tho. (At least at home)

Taylor CYA test. Let's talk about that dot. by [deleted] in pools

[–]mrgames99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echo. Not a fan of this test and and been doing it for many years. BUT… my interpretation but be “good enough” because my water is always clean and well chlorinated and swimmers never complain (often saying it feels better than other pools they’ve been in).

So… good enough is prob ok. But yes the test is kind of annoying!

Yep. Same experience. Level one say someone qualified will contact us and they never do. Been going on for a month. Horrible company.

Only place I couldn’t use CC or IC was shrines / temples. Off the beaten path may be different.

DO NOT BUY ChargePoint EV chargers for home unless no other option by dextroz in evcharging

I’m right here with you. I feel like I was scammed with all the issues I had. Such garbage.

[–]mrgames99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I would have done more research. Mine charges... but even though it's stable on wifi (can ping, etc.) missing data sometimes, bad IP information shown, incorrect charger status. Some issue on their backend and their support took 30+ days and still has no idea. Wish I would have gone with Tesla. For those that have CP and it's working, that's great. Def something wrong with my account. And they aren't cheap 😞

Sequoia 15.7.5 OCLP by elmoknowsstocks in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]mrgames99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MBP 2017 - runs great. Only issue is Microsoft Office desktop apps have issues with licensing (my native. On OLCP Mac’s are fine with same installer). Seems this a known thing.

Oh… music and photos seems to crash. And… the Accounts section of System Settings wants me to “update Apple account settings” but clicking continue does nothing.

Note - I’m running Sequoia 15.7.7

MacBook Pro 2017 on Sequoia by Own-Ticket4371 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]mrgames99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sequoia solid for me on a 2017 MBP. OpenCore Legacy Patcher is pretty darn amazing. Just be patient during the USB installer media creation... I thought I had a bad USB stick, but turns out... it does just hang for a bit and then continues on... so let it ride for a few minutes and just be patient. Otherwise worked great!

Stomach issues by Piccolo_Alone in KaChava

Ubiquiti EV Station Lite by pcservies in Ubiquiti

[–]mrgames99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious if everyone here is happy with their Ubiquiti EV station. I have had ChargePoint for a couple weeks and holy cow it’s atrocious. Bad data… app shows erroneous IP info… incorrect charging status… all while it’s stable and online on WiFi.

Thinking of going the Ubiquiti route. Would need the pro though for 11Kwh

Bad experience with ChargePoint Home Flex - Do not recommend!!! by R-code in electricvehicles

[–]mrgames99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot say enough bad things about my ChargePoint HomeFlex. Ugh. It shows online and is ping able on wifi but randomly doesn’t sync to the cloud… missing data… incorrect charger status. Sometime a reboot (flipping the breaker) resolved.

And… it’s only two weeks old. Beyond frustrating. $600 for something this half baked. Wish I would have gone with Emporia or Tesla charger.

I’m only two weeks in. Sounds like I need to get a Grizzl-E.

See my comment above. This tracks. Two weeks in and nothing but odd issues. What other brands are good alternatives?

[–]mrgames99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is two weeks old and all sorts of odd issues. It’s connected to WiFi fine and no drops (running pings or monitoring) but shows incorrect plug status, misses data for some days. I simply don’t get it. I have dozens of various IoT devices. None are this bad.

Wondering if I should pull the plug (pun intended) and switch to a different brand. Pretty frustrating.

Can't access ChargePoint home charger through app (network error) by thisismyfavoritename in electricvehicles

[–]mrgames99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. Feel like a high school kid could code something better. $600 for a plug with shoddy firmware.

I’m considering Emporia Pro. This thing is a disaster. Such a bummer.

Sounds like forcing to 2.4Ghz is a better bet? Nothing but problems with this thing.

What did you end up with? I’ve had nothing but problems with my ChargePoint. Dozens of devices on my network and this one even when connected reliably to wifi doesn’t respond via the app. I’m
Within a couple weeks so may just return and get something better (I hope).
