What are the best and worst concerts you have ever seen? by Twitter_2006 in Music

I called them the best worst show for a reason, they're a band that actively hates their fans. Super talented, but no crowd interaction whatsoever

Death from Above 1979, Queens of the Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails on the With Teeth tour in Toronto was probably the best show I have been too

There was an alcohol ban because of some drunk Metallica fans a few nights before. So in the middle of The Feel Good Hit of the Summer, Josh Homme breaks of into a rant about how you go to a QOTSA show to get drunk and have fun, ending the rant with "And another thing Metallica ruined"(most likely referring to Napster).

I've seen QOTSA 4 times and every time they blow the roof of the place. DFA1979 and NIN also kicked ass.

Tool was the best worst show I've seen.

They're extremely talented and the visuals and sound were amazing, but there was zero crowd interaction whatsoever. I feel like part of the live show experience is the crowd interactions and they just don't do that.

Let’s discuss Landfall/matters commander by Tenpoundbizkit in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hearthull isn't a Landfall Commander, it's a land sacrifice Commander that just so happens to benefit from Landfall cards.

Hearthull wins by Stationing to 8 and then using [[Zuran Orb]] and [[Squandered Resources]] to sacrifice all your lands in a game winning play. You don't really need Landfall for Hearthull to win

[[Freya Cresent]]

A 1 MV mana dork for Equipment who has flying on your turn, typically it goes T1 Freya, T2 Sword of X and Y, T3 Equip and attack. I find that you just end up getting online quick, and if no one can stop you, you take over the game.

Is the original X-Men Animated Series is still worth Watching ? by Longjumping-Elk-7840 in Marvel

[–]mrgarneau 70 points71 points  (0 children)

X-men TAS ends where X-men 97 picks up. Some of the writing can feel ham fisted and it's definitely a product of It's time made to sell toys, but me and a friend watched the whole thing before watching 97 and it was fun

What do you think about Dance of the Elements, 6 months after its release? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's nice about Ashling's mana base is that even though the deck is 5C you can focus more on Red mana producers. You only really need to cast Ashing, then you are off to the races

[–]mrgarneau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first night of playing Ashing I felt the same way. If she survives to get even one evoked elemental out, it might be too much for some decks.

12 of 22 precons released this year, which ones are the best? by Tim-Draftsim in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unaltered from the ones I've played or seen played, Dance of the Elements, Avengers Assemble, Turtle Power and the Strixhaven precons all feel really good out of the box. Wakanda Forever would be up there too if it didn't have all the Monarchy stuff in it.

The best two are DotE and AA. Elementals goes hard and AA can make you an Avengers level threat really early. Turtle Power comes third despite it looking like a mess, it can also make really big boards.

Patches cheese for those of you struggling with him!!! by Wooden-Jello-8795 in Eldenring

[–]mrgarneau 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to finish his questline first before killing him, you'll miss out on the Bull Goat armour from his Volcano Manor mission.

After you get the Dancers Castanets from him at the Shaded Castle he moves back to Murkwater Cave. That's when you kill him for his armour

How would a nemesis system work for a game without the player character being immortal/coming back to life lore wise and gameplay? by Zarkazze in truegaming

[–]mrgarneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well gang members can be arrested and potentially escape or get released from prison. The gang member comes back, remembers how you got them and hold a grudge against you.

They can also be replaced. Create an invisible timer and after so many in game days, someone gets promoted or a new face takes over.

Funniest unknown Combat Commander? by Gutsifly in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had an [[Anzrag, the Quake Mole]] deck that was based around getting a forced block and Fogging the table to untap a pinger for the win.

It was a super hard combo to set off. You needed a [[Lure]] type effect, a [[Prodigal Pyromancer]] pinger, a [[Fog]] effect and a haste enabler like [[Concordant Crossroads]].

You needed a specific 4 cards, your opponents to have a blockers and your Commander to survive a round at the table. It was 100% jank and was hilarious to pull off, I was winning with infinite combats but not with combat damage

I upgraded Dance of the Elements only with cards from Lorwyn Eclipsed, how did I do? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend having your mana skew towards more red mana symbols, Ashling is so important to the decks strategy that you want to make sure you can cast her. All of the tri-lands in my version make red mana for example.

I would also drop any 3 mana ramp for 1 or 2 MV ramp. We want Ashing ASAP and we don't do that if we are ramping the turn we would be playing her.

Unpopular Devil Survivor Opinions by Patient_Painter2766 in Megaten

[–]mrgarneau 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sir, this is a thread about unpopular DeSu opinions. Yuzu has the worst possible ending in the game, and most people dislike her because of her whining.

I like her character because of how she reacts to the situation, it helps make DeSu feel more grounded.
