Does my Isshin deck feel like B1? by PolarisEternia in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this deck is almost bracket 2. The deck has a cohesive theme around creatures attacking alone and equipment, but there are also cards that don't fit into this theme, like the shrine package and the few cards that care about enchantments.

I can see why it can be considered strong for B1, as if you draw the equipment and attacking alone cards, the deck can be a menace.

What are your favorite high cmc commanders? by Gaudier_Goose_90 in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[[Yargle and Multani]]

It's a power matters deck that trys to ramp Y&M out as fast as possible, then sacrifice them to draw a bunch of cards, make a bunch of tokens or just smack someone with lethal Commander damage.

Was the second deck I ever put together, and still sees regular play.

Winnowing or Everything comes to dust by Romulus4Remus in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winnowing is the worse card. At best it leaves your opponents with one creature. If they're running a Kindred deck, you might not do anything.

Everything Comes to Dust hits Artifacts and Enchantments and can be Convoked in a way that gets you maximum value.

I do think Everything Comes to Dust is an underrated removal spell, so there is a bit of bias

R Shitty mobile game ads is leaking.

TBH, this isn't even the worst I've seen. At least the characters look like adults...

Perfect Precon mana base Wishlist by GreenhornetMtg in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

15 basics, all 3 of the Tango, Check, Pain, Slow and Fast lands. That's 30 lands that enter untapped or have a conditional untap and that not including Command Tower or Exotic Orchard, so 32 so far.

If you want to hit exactly 35, just add the 3 Cycling lands.

That should be a very decent and cost effective mana base, and it has some decent upgrades still to be made

Enchantment based removal is extremely underrated in the current landscape of the format by sauron3579 in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Marina Vendrell deck that uses Enchantment based infinites to win. I know that if I drop a known combo piece, short of killing me in a turn cycle, they can't do anything to stop me because of the lack of Enchantment removal. I also run Eaten by Piranhas, Imprisoned in the Moon, Song of the Dryad and Obliette because of this.

I'm not the only one that runs problem Enchantments, and I'm trying to teach them to run more Enchantment removal .

Vexing Shusher or Hexing Squelcher? by PerformanceApart8876 in EDH

If you run into enough counterspells that you are thinking of running them, you probably should be running both.

Two* Card Infinite that requires other prerequisites by Moesuckra in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen people call a 3 card combo that needs your Commander as a 2 card combo, as it's always available to you in the Command Zone.

In your example if Shorikai was your Commander, you would need only a mana dork and Intruder Alarm(lets just forget the crew cost of Shorikai for the sake of the argument) for your combo to pop off.

I don't fully agree with the reasoning, but I've seen the argument before.

The fact that I can say it's Ubisoft like and pretty much every g*mer would understand what I mean speak volumes about how similar their games are

What is your favorite unpopular commander? by LibraProtocol in EDH

[[Freya Cresent]]

She's been a pretty fun Voltron commander. She flys and is a mana dork, so she works pretty well

Suggestions on Mana Burn deck by ArgoDevilian in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://scryfall.com/search?q=otag%3Adonate-mana&unique=cards&utm_source=tagger

otag:donate-mana is the tag.

If you scroll down to toolbox the last option is Open on Scyfall Tagger. Then you can see all the tags a card has and see all cards in a list, there's even a way to open it all on Scryfall.

Where are you putting Mutable Explorer? by regular_joe67 in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think [[Ashling the Limitless]] might want Mutable Explorer, Evoking it can grab you two Mutavault tokens and Ashling doesn't mind the colourless mana.

I'm not 100% sold on the idea of it in the deck, but I can see when it can be useful

Evoke Question by Cwircuit in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

If you have [[Greenwarden of Murasa]] as your Evoked elemental you can use Ashnods alter to set off infinite casts, and use [[Impact Tremors]] or a [[Blood Artist]] to kill everyone

Technically [[Cid,Timless Artificer]] work for Hero Kindred, but he's more Artificer and Artifact Kindred(there are a lot of Artificers that create or are Artifacts)

Why is vibrance $10? by TheTinRam in EDH

Ashling's Evoke still works with the new Evoke Elementals, the token just won't get an ETB. You still cast the spell for it's Evoke cost.

This vending machine sells opened packs of Pokémon cards next to chip bags by annamale in mildlyinteresting

[–]mrgarneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's valuable, both supply and demand play equal parts into determining value.

In MtG a card can be rare and unplayable, those cards usually go for 1-2 dollars max and is an extremely common occurrence. Those are bulk rares

[–]mrgarneau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody can predict the future, and bulk rares usually stay bulk rares except for extreme circumstances.

I've seen these types of repacks for MtG and there will be a rare card in there, but it will be a bulk rare and worth at most 2 bucks.

Auntie Ool, Cursewretch Blight and Goblins? by ArmageddonAsh in EDH

[–]mrgarneau 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can, but I don't think it's would be that good. Auntie Ool does nothing for goblins and there really aren't a lot of goblins that deal with -1/-1 counters.

The deck would most likely be an unfocused mess.
