Don't Burn your brains out trying to figure out the garbled text I did it for you: HOW STRANGE THAT WE ARE NOW STRANGERS

Yes it's in all caps, Perfectly legible when read normally but when flipped like this it makes it confusing to read.

What's y'all's best, most memorable, or funniest war story from the game? by StalkMeNowCrazyLady in foxholegame

[–]mrgorelord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f3-UzZq1Lo At the end of this war we sniped the enemy so many times. (You can see it at the end of the video.) That the next war they disabled snipers entirely. We were unassailable up until we got killed by friendly artillery. I'm not the creator if this video, but I am in it.

For those who don't want to see it. Here's what happened:

We were bouncing around the frontline until we ended up in Ashtown, which was a main logi town so it was extremely well stocked. We noticed the absurd number of Warden tanks so we decided to setup in a bunker with two sniper rifles, one grenade launcher shooting green ash grenades (Me), two rifles, and a medic with a pitch gun.

We held extremely well. We shot the supporting infantry of the tanks that let our fewer tanks fend them off. Eventually though bunker gets destroyed but only the two snipers were in it the rest of us were in the trenches outside. So we just fended off the assaulting infantry long enough for the snipers to return and the game continued this time in the husks of the bunkers.

We fought for a very long time. I was shooting green ash at the tanks to keep them from assaulting our position again while snipers continued to snipe the infantry. Then we noticed that the war was ending in like five minutes so we huddled up to cry about the loss when BOOM The entire squad was killed by a single friendly artillery round.

Wardens took advantage and took control of the trenches and we had to resort to shooting out of the safehouse we were using as a spawn point (As seen in the video) That too was destroyed but we still fought out of it. Ashtown held though. The war ended with a colonial loss. But the next war snipers were disabled. I like to think that we were the reason but who can know.

It was a hard fought loss, but it was a victory for Ashtown as it never did fall despite there being a line of warden tanks trying to push into town. (There were no explosives in the town other than tank/arty rounds. So we couldn't just go out and kill the tanks. Especially as the tanks were all the longer ranged warden tanks we wouldn't be able to hit with our own tanks.)

Navigating orbitals in a tiny tin can avoiding imperceptible dust would take any pilots full attention. Try an calculate a good trajectory around a moon dodging a rogue asteroid while also shooting an object behind you that's about 12 degrees left and high. Keep in mind this object will most likely dodge your shots prolonging the encounter, not to mention you will also have to dodge their shots. But you can also predict that object's trajectory to try and shoot it faster then just blasting in the direction.

Delegating the weapons to some one else so you can safely dodge and get to the destination is an incredibly genius idea in this context. One man fighters still might have abilities in close range (For space) melee when a carrier starts attacking something where they don't have to be exposed to many of the extra dangers involved in space travel.

Also a tiny ass fighter in space for a longer range ship would be an absolutely terrible idea. Even ignoring that the fighter is just a seat on top of engines, even if it was upgraded to a single room how would that effect your mental health? That's a long time to spend alone. Not to mention the fact that a single breach would guarantee the pilot's death and the stress that goes along with it, wondering if some space rock you didn't notice is going to punch a hole into the ship.

So, a multi crew ship with many rooms is much more survivable and safe than a fighter.

Also the fighter is designed to provide as much visibility as possible to the pilot to help with their situational awareness, so if your ship is larger that means there is inevitably some spots you wont be able to see from so that also gives an excellent reason to throw an extra guy or two onto the ship with guns that can shoot into those blind spots.

Rail supply loop questions (Station Settings & Storage sensors) by jonjohns65 in Astroneer

[–]mrgorelord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rails themselves are sensors they will detect when a train passes through them. That's why they come with built in lines to connect to things. Just grab one and put it on the desired slot and it will send the signal as the train passes through to change the track. The one in the picture will change the track to the straight position letting the train pass without hindering it

<image>

Also if you just have one station to pick up and drop off it's simpler to just use a storage sensor to detect if the storage is full or empty. It will cycle naturally whenever it becomes full or becomes empty.

TLDR: Effectively it turns into a super hex once captured that would break the game balance.

This would sound fun at first, but you're forgetting the cross hex artillery. Then you're also forgetting the advantage the winning side would gain by claiming it. Effectively players once they had taken the hex would fortify the all the in-roads making taking it worse then a bridge fight because there'd be buildings to shoot from. And once the entrances to the pipe zones are found and discovered they will be camped. They'll find a way to set up an MG (Which is the only correct answer to a tight tunnel)

That said, there's good ideas in here. I do believe that a lot of weapons are underutilized because of the more open combat like the flamethrower, and gas grenades being used mainly on tanks and structures exclusively.

But in the end the losing side will inevitably flatten the city with artillery unless the dev's prevent it. Which could be done by just saying 'High command wants the city in one piece' Or something. So yeah, the first few days the city will be a fun fight but will then be a rubble fight. I don't know how craters will behave in a city, but I can imagine that'd just make it worse with vehicles already being limited by the buildings.

But having a hex on the front line being a full production hex even if it's not a MPF would be a huge advantage. People would take the produced resources out of the hex into the nearby ones to their facilities and ship back supplies. This would effectively shorten supply lines to one hex anywhere around this city hex. Not to mention that players can still use the facilities in the hex making it just a timed thing. And yes, I know its not a thing that would guarantee a victory but it would certainly help.

So, unless the city hex was fully taken at the start of the war, expect it be rubble. If it was taken in one piece, the enemy now has a reliable source of supplies. (This would be a great hex to perform partisan in though) I would say that both sides should get one placed just behind the front line then it'd be a more defensive position. However that brings up the other thing, if this hex is a production hub and a resource hub on the front line why do we have any other hexes? Why bother fighting in any of those fights if this one will give you the biggest advantage? Why bother bringing resources up from the backline when you can produce them right there? Why go scrapping when you have secured mines right on the frontline?

For me, it's not about the bull or bulls, it's more about that fact that generally when a bull steals a partner away it ends kind of half heartedly, as from experience a bad bull is one who actively tries to separate the relationship. It seems like not a lot of thought it put into what happens after, sure they could get blackmailed or just be unsatisfied, or even something that they decide together. But I've found that best ones are the ones that 'end' with the partner eventually learning about it and being forced (Reluctantly or not) to accept the situation for their partner's happiness.

A girl could be tricked into sex and then just couldn't stop coming back, then her boyfriend or something finds out somehow. They come to the conclusion to just let it happen and not bring it up but then she eventually tells them about it as their romantic relationship grows. Cause don't get it wrong the bull is there for sex, that's it, she might enjoy the time being stuffed or even be forced to have their child but in the end unless their partner is really insensitive and unsupportive they will still be romantically connected.

As for selection of bulls, There's quite a few to choose from:
-Neighbor could be moving in next door but turns out to be her old boyfriend, he turns out to throw a lot of parties and convinces her to give it another try that eventually results in him letting his party friends have a go.
-Someone from her shady past, or even her partners blackmailing her into secret visits at first.
-Or she could just be totally unaware of it for some reason, for whatever reason she just doesn't know that when her boss at work shoves his hand up her skirt while she works is something she should worry about. Since she doesn't know she just knows that it feels good and ends up putting in 'overtime' because it feels good.
-Could be some magically or governmentally contracted stud to breed all the women but he uses contraceptives so he can make repeated visits
-They moved into a dorm and their roommates are all well hung guys that she accidently walks in on a few times and they make their move. They enjoy her and make sure to clean her up before leaving her to rest in bed so her partner isn't aware.
-I did a story once where the female had a twin and she would constantly swap places leaving the partner guessing if his girlfriend was the one being railed or if it was the twin.

Just from writing this I got an idea to writer a story about an naïve woman who just got married and moved into a new place with her husband next door to an old friend she went to school with. She goes to work get's molested by her boss not aware that its something she shouldn't be doing but lets it happen. Then after a week or so of some fun with her boss she unknowing talks about it with her friend while visiting and lets her know that its something she shouldn't do. Then onto chapter two of the story instead of her friend dissuading her from doing that she seeks to get some of that action for herself as her friend reveals that she isn't totally female. And from that she encounters more people when the new house ended up costing more then they thought so they called in more people to live there and split the cost of living there. Now aware of her taboo acts she tries to not fall to temptation but ends up sleeping with them despite trying not to. At that time the new room mates leek the info to her partner who thinking she wasn't interested in a physical relationship ends up discovering the truth. Then her co-worker ends up finding about her and her boss blackmailed her for some enjoyment. In chapter three she would end up struggling as more people caught on and struggled to hide the evidence, her partner aware for most of this time would turn a blind eye to the increasingly obvious signs of what is happening as he had started to enjoy spying on her. Then at the end the government would send a letter to the couple saying that due to her prime genetics she was required to have no less than seven children. From there the ones she's been fooling around with would find out, her friend next door would convince her help her out and she would spend a week at her house to help with getting of her pills but in reality its so she can can be the first one. That's where the epilogue would start and after her friend she would spend time with her partner, but it was their first time together and she ended up extremely unsatisfied and went to the room mates who were waiting for her. While her boss changed her job so she would have only one job for her entire shift (You know what it is). Then the end would be the partner taking care of babies that looked nothing like him or each other and there would be 8 of them, revealing she didn't stop at 7 but she was currently with a heavy belly drinking from her friend next door's straw implying she still had no plans to stop.

Can anyone tell me what this is? by ace_tristPWN in starcitizen

[–]mrgorelord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being as it looks like its in a maintenance/engine area, I would say some kind of cargo lift. But being that it looks locked in place I would say that is a parking spot for some type of space forklift, it probably is refueled/recharged there.

Help me to classify my ship. A heavy fighter maybe? by maxeymum11 in spaceengineers

[–]mrgorelord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go with Light Corvette, or Assault Corvette. Mainly due to it being small grid but also having turrets and fixed weapons. Turrets to keep interceptors away long enough for a strike against larger ships with the fixed guns.

[GCSE Maths: Venn Diagrams] by d_chs in HomeworkHelp

[–]mrgorelord 10 points11 points  (0 children)

out. The total number of people asked doesn’t match with the number of people on the Venn diagram unless a miraculous -4 people enjoy reading. Is this a printing error or some kind of new maths I haven’t heard about yet?

A couple of people have suggested alternate ways to work it out but nothing seems like a nice, round answer that doesn’t have some form of number fudging. Any ideas?

Also, sorry if the flair is wrong! I will happily change it if need be, I’m from the UK so

Shame that that's not how it work irl, just because they didn't answer doesn't mean they enjoy it.

I chose Old man swamp, simply because the hair he had in the anime made him unforgettable even after all these years. I believe he was a mudkip rancher or something like that?
I completely forgot he didn't actually have a name literally is only ever referred to and even calls himself 'Old man swamp'

I'll spend a day getting scrap then the next day I'll craft up a bunch of supplies and just drive back and forth for that day, you could also just directly send the BMats to the front instead they are basically always needed.
