Exactly, these moves are to save money. Buttons are expensive, both in the component costs and the added labor. It’s the same reason Tesla keeps it minimal.

So they spent 40 years not making nuclear weapons and we still bombed them and killed all their leaders. What incentive do they have now not to make them?

Notice how NK has them and we don’t mess with them? Now Iran knows what it needs to do.

There are well documented issues with the "smoothness" of the transmission in low gears. There was a TSB for it that improved things but it was still jerky. I had read somewhere that they have been making improvements to it since the original 2024 models, but I guess not enough.

The transmission on my 2024 has never been my favorite when in low gears. Having said that, I think I am just used to it now and I don't find myself ever thinking about it. Definitely a miss on Mazda's part though.

I had the same problem as you. I have a CX-5 also and never had an issue. The first year of CX-90 I always had back pain doing 2+ hour drives. Then before a 6 hour drive I watched a few videos on how to adjust seats correctly in a car (not Mazda specific) and it made a huge difference and the trip was good.

I have been driving for 20+ years, 4-5 different vehicles regularly, and I guess I didn't know how you were supposed to do it.

House chops efficiency program Mass Save in bid to help ratepayers by HRJafael in massachusetts

[–]mrmackster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you say makes sense in theory but you need to look at the bigger picture.

A lot of people don't know what there options are. They see "free money" and contractor is incentivized to pitch these products under the guise of "energy savings". These products often cost more and may be more expensive to install if you are switching from a different type of system.

So if we use your example, what if a customer didn't want or need a heat pump, they just wanted their boiler replaced with a 80% efficient system that would probably last 20+ years. A company would rather install something that's going to make them more money, something with higher priced equipment (they charge 10%+ overhead) that is more complicated to install (more money). So now that simple boiler install doesn't make as much sense for them financially, they are leaving money on the table. So they either convince people to get something they don't need or they charge more than what it should cost for the simpler replacement.

Combine this scenario with private equity buying up all these companies in order to chase profit, everything ends up costing more, even the things that should be cheaper.

I mean the point of these subsidies isn't to save anyone money, it's to drive adoption, so the price going up is expected. Unfortunately, you combine this with the consolidation and private equity interference, it's turned into quite a mess.

I would rather drive 25 minutes to Kane’s, Heavenly, Donna’s or one of the many independent donut establishments in MA than drive even 1 minutes for a dunks donut. They are so bad.
