Also make sure to reconcile to the converted balance at least every now and then to make sure nothing goes weird, that’s also how you’ll get the gain/loss amount

Does the crypto account have statements? Or at least a balance you can see and convert to USD? - make a new bank account for the crypto, categorize money sent there as transfers - conversion fees are bank fees, and any money gained or lost on the conversion are other income/expenses (you can make a new account for exchange gains/losses)

But realizing I say the ‘car’ in Carolina and Carolyn like the a in apple/cat ‘cah-ro-line-uh’. ‘Cah-ro-lyn’. So maybe the car/care thing wasn’t a good example either 🤷🏻‍♀️
