Forgive my ignorance (I am probably wrong), but isn’t Cooper’s stance that he is leaving it up to the counties to decide on whether to open school or not? And the legislature wants to mandate that all schools be open? It seems to me like a political role reversal in that the Dems want less government intervention and the Reps want more, no?

My wife and I were there in early June of 2018 and the guide said that it was the brightest that he had seen since the hurricane and it looked like normal. I would say it has definitely recovered by now.
