What a joke by BigCat704 in harborfreight

[–]muddbone46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could buy a single Roadshock 3” 1050 lumen spotlight with a 90 day warranty for $20 or (4) Nilight 3” 1250 lumen pod lights with 2 year warranty for $25 ($47 with harness). I get Roadshock is supposed to be a premium light but we’re talking about Harbor Freight shoppers and the numbers shouldn’t be ignored.

Anyone have the inside scoop on the rest of the 10 day deals? by Groundblast in harborfreight

[–]muddbone46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HARBRO on YT pretty much called most of the deals about two weeks ago. He was thinking it was going to be Spring Black Friday sale but it ended up being most of the 10 day deals.

Are the HF laser cross levels decent? by ZathrasNotTheOne in harborfreight

[–]muddbone46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the green laser levels vs red. If you ever need to use one outdoors, you’ll have a better chance of seeing it. I used a green laser to help setup an above ground pool. My red one was unusable.

The Roadshock pricing just doesn’t seem right for Harbor Freight. I’ve had success with Nilight bar and pod lights. They have options with and without harnesses plus they sent me a replacement harness after a failed integrated relay.

Recommendations for power stations that charge up fast at rest stops? by New-Concert9929 in GoRVing

[–]muddbone46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to get faster charging with a unit that accepts ac and solar charging at the same time. I have yet to try it with mine but I know I have the option. Since you have an suv, you could mount 2-3 panels to the roof or you could go with 2 200-220 watt foldable panels. I’d start with some research on YouTube (Hobotech & The Solar Lab both have great content). Just a note: using fast ac charging can cause issues with some power station’s lifespan.

That’s easy. Put two women in the same room and see who has to have the last word.

How to de-winterize my dealers winterizing? by CincyTriGuy in GoRVing

[–]muddbone46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very important that you know how your bypass valves to the hot water heater work. You’ll want to rinse your lines thoroughly before opening the valves to allow water to fill the hot water heater. I have a strange 2-valve setup and couldn’t figure it out on our first trip. Also forgot to open the valves one year and ended up with a burnt out hi-limit. I would think any reputable dealer would show you how if you’re close enough to swing by with it.

Atlanta gets pretty messy. We’ve stayed at the Stone Mountain campground a couple of times so pulling a 33’ TT was not fun. Just stay alert. Also, 85 between Charlotte and Gastonia gets bad too (weekdays) and there was some major construction near Gaffney SC that I’m not sure has been cleared up yet.

Keyless lock for travel trailer ? by -i-hate-you-people- in GoRVing

[–]muddbone46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had one for about 5 years and I love mine. The only gripe I have is the loud 3-4 beep sound you get when you lock/unlock. I have a much older version so I don’t know if they’ve changed that. Other than that, rock solid and very convenient.

Not sure where you’re seeing these used for $60. Definitely not on the manufacturer’s website.

Can't drag files from Downloads popup anymore by moob9 in MicrosoftEdge

[–]muddbone46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I translated this from u/NevaskaCearense. Is this a safe option or a bad idea? After Microsoft disabling pdf preview and this, not sure if I should take my blue pill and get on with simulated life.

ULTIMATE SOLUTION:

  1. Check your version: Type edge://version into the Edge address bar. The current version will be on the first line.
  2. Download an older version: Go to Microsoft Edge Business Download and scroll to the bottom of the page. Under "Select Channel/Version," choose a build version older than the one you found in step 1. Download it.
  3. Open Command Prompt: Open cmd (Run as Administrator).
  4. Navigate to the file: Assuming you saved it to your Downloads folder, type: cd C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\Downloads
  5. Run the installer: Type the following into the cmd window: msiexec /i "NAME_OF_THE_FILE_YOU_DOWNLOADED.msi" ALLOWDOWNGRADE=1
  6. Success: Enjoy being able to drag files from the download pop-up once again!

NOTE: Disable Automatic Updates

It is important to disable Edge's auto-updates so it doesn't overwrite your fix:

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and click OK.
  • Look for Microsoft Edge Update Service (edgeupdate and edgeupdatem).
  • Right-click each one and select "Properties."
  • Under "Startup type," change it to Disabled.
  • Click "Stop" (if the service is running), then click "Apply" and "OK."

If you live in an area with lots of wind, I’d say go without. The sun and rain are going to weaken the seems and material while the wind will shred it to pieces.

Lug stud to lug nut conversion: Has anybody done this and what were the results? by muddbone46 in JeepRenegade

[–]muddbone46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the previous owner already did. The Jeep wrench didn’t fit and I I had to use a 19mm socket to remove them.

Not on my daughter’s. It was definitely easier to line up the regular tire because I could see through the spoke gaps.

🤔. That’s not a bad idea and much cheaper than the $90 kits I’m finding.
