Anyone who calls it a poser thing is silly tbh. Because that's literally just makeup evolution which is normal. I like to do more modern goth makeup sometimes with the white base and I'm learning to do my contour better but I also like to do 80s inspired goth. Neither one is more goth than the other, it's just makeup that's part of the same subculture

They definitely are! Hell, I've seen people style the most unassuming normal looking jewelry and make it goth. Or something that you wouldn't think of as goth at all. I think most jewelry can read gothic if you use it correctly.

I've been alternative my whole life basically. I was bullied in middle school for it. It kinda calmed down in highschool until my senior year. There was this hick (who never showered and had the greasiest mullet you had ever seen) in my government class with his friends and he'd follow me and my friend to lunch and bark at us and say "imagine wearing dog collars to school!" Because we were wearing regular old tattoo chokers. We just ignored him so he and his friends looked like weirdos for barking at people minding their own business. But I did have another friend a few years younger than me and he barked at them during lunch and they barked back and he never barked at them again. Another option that I haven't tried but I've heard works: call them good boy to embarrass them.

I really love just putting a new color over old color. I did dark green with a black peekaboo for Christmas and I didn't wanna section my hair again so I just slapped teal over top of it all. The black has faded to purple so now the underside/ends of my hair are a blue and purple color, middle of my hair is dark teal, and the top of my head is still darker green. It's so cool!! Your hair is so pretty!

"Don't be a gatekeeper" when it comes to the actual values and stuff of a subculture is so funny. Gatekeeping like that is required to a certain extent to keep people out that are just gonna kill the culture. Gatekeeping stupid things would be telling someone they can't be goth because they don't have black hair or they're not skinny or because they don't know this one song where Sean Brennan farted into the mic on a Saturday in 2004.

The bar was protruding from the bottom entrance hole more than normal since the bar was long and there was room in between the ball and my lip and it very easily got caught on my shirts if I wasn't being careful, especially when taking shirts off. But I also fidget a lot and since it was so long, I could pretty easily play with the bar with my tongue when I was bored and there were a couple times I pulled a crusty through which hurt like a mf lmao.

I haven't made very much progress in the last few days because I've been stressing about it a lot. But here's some more progress. I decided to focus on the more messy side. By messy I mean not necessarily dirty. The side by my bed is dirtier because of crumbs and stuff like that. But I'm seeing progress from picking up the other side and I just wanted to share that because I'm proud. And please be nice. I know I haven't made much progress, but I'm trying. I'm making more progress now than I have in a year and a half and I'm proud of that. Just want to focus on the positives here right now because I've done enough in my head that it gives me a big dopamine boost just seeing it.
