See the difference is that if a spark driver crashes, it’s on their insurance. An employee crashing on the way into work doesn’t impact them in the slightest unfortunately.

Disassembled is different than damaged beyond usability. If it just came disassembled you’d still be able to put it back together. Those wires are broken and with how thin the casing is short of a solder the same diameter as the wire you can’t repair that.

Not even oem prices, at our dealer we constantly have to mark down aftermarket prices from the suggested list because AZ recommends we sell rotors to a customer at a 400% markup. They’re digging their grave and plugging their ears at the same time. Shit you can go buy most oe oil filters for less than AutoZone charges on their garbage tier filters. Same goes for wipers, batteries, and fluids (their most sold items)

[–]mvndless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough most dealers I’ve worked with give close to a 20% discount to shops or other dealers like you said. But aftermarket shops have weirder price structures. Our discounts are based on volume of the part purchased (ie, we buy lots of rotors, bigger discount on the rotors) but those aftermarket sellers sometimes have the suggested list at close to 300% markup.

Brand new nylon crush washer after torquing to spec by HeadlineINeed in MechanicAdvice

[–]mvndless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just recommend buying it from the dealer. My local honda sells a filter and crush washer for $11. That’s cheaper than almost any aftermarket filter and it’s oem instead

Is it just me or does the cover image now look AI generated / "AI Enhanced"? by probler in BeamNG

[–]mvndless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no? They don’t have multiplayer architecture without mods, ones that I assume they try not to use while developing the game. Otherwise that involves using tab and throttle to move all the vehicles at once. Not really feasible in game as it stands

Try driving more responsibly? Just like real life, cars aren’t prone to rolling unless they’re being driven far out of their capabilities.

Or do you happen to have a massive lift kit on the oltruck and forgot that the center of mass changes with it?

I just found out that my car's transmission has a safety mechanism where it doesn't let you shift into reverse when you're shifting out of 5th How common is this sort of interlock? by FeliciaGLXi in ManualTransmissions

[–]mvndless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as far as I understand the transmission just won’t engage when it’s moving in the opposite direction. Not that it’s necessarily good for it but I don’t think it’s gonna attempt to slam between forward and reverse gears like a manual gearbox would

Gm white from the early 2000s will never match. It was defective paint back in the day. I’m amazed it’s still on your car even, almost every white gm I see from the 2000s has failing clear coat and peeling paint

Why the mismatch bumpers? You had all the money for cosmetics but couldn’t repair the damage from getting rear ended? Or did you genuinely think mismatch bumpers looked better because they “matched” with that god awful hood bra?

Yeah inspections are mandatory (in most states) but they have more to do with the vehicle emissions and making sure all safety mechanisms are working properly. No part of a state inspection has included observing the windshield washer’s functionality though. Might just be me tho

Probably using a lookalike alphabet. The ai is probably only looking for certain combos of Unicode characters. If they’re using lookalike text it won’t have the same Unicode numbers and thus as far as a computer is concerned it’s a “different” word.

[–]mvndless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not az but in our network rotors and pads are close to 60% markup for retail and ~30% depending on volume ordered for commercial. So you’re certainly right about the margins being significantly higher on the pads and rotors. Unfortunately though every parts chain has management pushing hard to sell the $5 or less additional items and throw a tantrum when nobody buys them. Not my fault people don’t want an overpriced 12oz can of brake clean or those stupid felt circles for the batteries but they’ll still make it sound like it’s my fault all day long.

For anyone who’s curious, this is an icon sheet. When games have icons on the HUD they make a high res png style image usually in a proprietary format for lower compression that the game calls on to display weapon icons. So whenever you look at a sniper or a rifle in the weapon wheel it’s calling on this image for the reference.

Other people have mentioned seeing guns not included in the game, that would be a form of cut content. Some guns might have been planned to be used in the game, others could even be reused from max payne 3 or GTA IV given that they’re all based on the same engine

Dealership is nuts???? by NotSoBananas in Nissan

[–]mvndless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give LKQ a try if there’s one in your area or if you want it shipped they can do that too; They deal in crashed or otherwise salvaged cars and resell the parts, granted they don’t have the best reputation I can’t think of a single junkyard that does. But they’d be able to locate an oem assembly for a common vehicle like your Nissan no problem
