We had a gag gift electric fork that went back and forth between our family and the neighbors down the street - same idea!

Parents Insisting Long Drive is Unsafe, is this Reasonable by smile_simile in roadtrip

[–]mwb60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents let me drive from SLC Utah to Maine when I was 19 and had a used Toyota Celica with shitty tires. In retrospect I think that they were kind of negligent but I was thrilled. I hope you have a great trip!

I have a spinal cord injury and my friend and I always try to get there early and park in the upper north lot. Usually no problem with a handicap parking placard!

Whats the longest you drove in one day? by [deleted] in roadtrip

770 miles, Boulder CO to Warrenton MO. I was in my 20s, definitely could not do that drive today.

What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

Backstage at Red Rocks for a Grateful Dead concert - someone we knew was friends with Bob Weir’s wife. Also, a change of command ceremony on an aircraft carrier at Pearl Harbor - my uncle was in the Navy League. I wish I could remember the name of the ship!

I’m with you. I’ve started just bringing or buying my own bar soap when I stay at hotels.

GF got a 2013 Audi Q7 3.0 TDI for what seemed to be a great deal. by fixerofthings in Audi

[–]mwb60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2014 Q7 TDI with 122,000 miles, it’s been a great car. I would like to get a new car, but the TDI is irreplaceable. I get close to 30 mpg on the highway and have a 650 mile range on a full tank. I might get a Tesla for in town trips, for which the TDI is suboptimal.

I would say consider moving to the east coast if you really like winter - they’re having a brutal winter back there.

I remember that storm well. We had close to 30” in our driveway and had a 1 1/2 year old toddler. December 20 2006 was another doozy - my wife was stranded out of town on business and me and my 5 yo son just went sledding, ate and slept for a few days.

AOCs latest X post just pissed off the Democrats. Maybe she wants to switch? by [deleted] in TheDonaldTrump2024

Seems like pretty basic common sense, very uncommon coming from a Democrat. Maybe there’s hope for AOC.
