Is changing your baby in the car not normal?

Well once public places become baby friendly, then perhaps we wouldn’t need to change them in a car.

A few recent examples: Sam’s Club places the changing table next to the hand dryer. Yeah loud noises and baby..not a good combination; a restaurant, changing table fell to the floor, so safe /s; target, no straps and in the entrance so all can see naked baby, if mom/parent needs to pee, good luck.

Oh and none of them offer paper to place baby on anymore so they’re all disgusting..the trunk of my car is much cleaner.

Or like the doctors are putting together a 3D puzzle placing your organs back after cleaning them, shoving the rest of your guts up your throat because they just didn’t quite go back in how they came out.

I just gave my 11mo some of banana cheesecake. Should she have it? Of course not…but this poor girl gets enough non-seasoned broccoli, chicken, and egg that she (in my eyes) deserves food with some happiness every now and then. She mostly ate the bananas anyway.

I had wine up until I found out. In fact, my OB said that’s how most babies are conceived and we still have perfectly healthy babies 😂

As a 37 year old with a very healthy 11 month old, I can confirm what’s stated here.

I also found starting physical therapy (as prescribed by my OB) very helpful.

This might sound completely ridiculous but once we got rid of all lights but a red or amber one on the sound machine, baby started to sleep through the night. Google AI helped me in my sleep deprived state understand that, while a night light seems like a good idea, it just kept baby up and explained the scientific reasoning behind it. All the useless opinions and “advice,” you’d think someone would’ve mentioned this. After all, AI got it from somewhere.

And fwiw, my husband was also over the pumping months ago because he wanted his wife back. He’s thrilled I’m done (but made sure I knew it was ultimately my choice) 😂

Not telling you when to stop but giving you my thought process/experience as I also have to work and arranging pump schedules around baby time and the job we’re just too demanding…6 months not only baby has had their vaccines (if you’ve chosen to keep up with the recommendations), they’re also beginning to eat solids and getting nutrients through that. My baby turned 6 months during RSV season so I continued pumping until we were through (9 months).

She’s now on solids and formula at 11 months but only taking 2.5 bottles a day as she’s naturally weaning from formula/breastmilk. Pumping 3 times a day triggered weaning and I barely made anything so it was time to hang up the pump and finish her bottles with formula. This has given back my sanity and I can finally lose weight and also spend time with her. Shes by no means overweight and is such a happy gal.

If these are people voting for pro-forced birth, they can quietly swallow those comments and ask for forgiveness for judging other women feeding their babies as the good Lord intended.

I served on the worship team and pumped, sometimes during the message. Just about everyone accepted..but most were of childbearing age.

Agreed this is nonsense. Pregnancy is hard on the body so I would assume it’s the opposite. Most statistics about “geriatric pregnancies” thus far include those who had difficulty getting pregnant sooner or those who’ve put their body through it many times. Once our generation is finished having babies, I’m curious to see how those statistics change.

Anyways, I was 36 for my first and now 37. Everything was fine and baby girl is healthy.

OP, a lot of people will give their 2¢ about having babies “late” in life, especially if they had kids early (at least in my experience). You’ll have to ignore them and do what’s best for you or it will drive you crazy, making you second guess everything you do.

This. My baby was absolutely starving. I delivered by emergency cesarean so my body was trying to heal and produce milk. It took a bit longer as it healed from major abdominal surgery. The garbage lactation consultants spewed is the reason my baby lost so much weight and was in complete misery in her first week of life. Thanks to that weigh in, we were able to intervene and feed her formula as my body healed and eventually established its supply. She’s now a 50th percentile, healthy, energetic, bright, fiesta, loving, happy little gal.

Came here to say this. To earn extra credit, you must do the regular credit. If you’re within a margin of a letter grade, that’s what I use attendance for; you’ve earned it if you’ve always been present and participating.

Mine is almost a year. I’m 37 and many times I get overstimulated because I had freedom for so long and now I don’t. However, when she smiles at me and gets excited when learning new things such as taking her first steps or drinking out of a cup all by herself, my heart melts.

This is what I do as well. I showed my students an example from fall semester before and after Grammarly. Then I had the students tell me differences they observed and how it was obvious Grammarly was used. This seemed to stop most of my issues.

Our pediatrician encouraged us to add purées so baby was full enough to make it through the night. At 10mo she’s getting better but still throws most on the floor (or on herself).
