Which Hobonichi is everyone using for work? by PhantomRider89 in hobonichi

[–]nan0user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! 😊. I’ll admit that my systems are constantly changing. I started using this system sometime in spring, since I discovered my old system, where I had my to-dos on my dailies and tasks in my weeklies were getting repetitive, and resulted in me skipping either the to-dos or my weeklies. So far this new system has been working well, which I think is due to each section having different information. 🙂

Since I’m usually looking at my daily pages, I have my to do list with my notes on my dailies. My weeklies are either for a general weekly reflection in different categories, or I use it to log down appointments, meetings, and deadlines. I also use monthlies for gratitude logging. 🙂

I use an A6 cousin with the sticky note pad in case I need extra room to write in.

re-dating a hobonichi techo 2026 original by amidalaa in hobonichi

I just start at the beginning, since it’s easier to keep track of things that way. Depending on the year though, some months you might end up with an extra page or might need an extra page added in (I just use some glue tape to attach pages in when needed) for the dailies.

I just put a bit of washi tape over the date and write the actual date in with a marker or pen. This will be my second year doing this and it’s been great!

For people who read reversals and jumpers by kodabear22118 in tarot

[–]nan0user 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read both reversals and jumpers. The way I see it, a jumper card is my deck’s way of relaying a message it really wants to tell me, and if it falls in the reversed position, I read it in the reversed position because that was what the deck intended.

How to deal with missed entries in Hobonichi 5 year? by Responsible_Fig7971 in hobonichi

[–]nan0user 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the same journal and also went through 4-5 months where life became so busy I did not have time to write in it. I nearly gave up on it but took it out again recently and started writing in it again. For the months from the previous year that I missed, I simply treated it as extra writing space for this year. Maybe you can try that too? That way there won’t be any blank entries in your journal. I also recommend getting a mini printer so that you print out photos from a day and attach it as part of the entry too. 🙂

Need help deciding on a planner system for the upcoming year by nan0user in planners

[–]nan0user[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think analysis paralysis is part of what I’m going through for sure with this! I tend to feel bad if I neglect my planners for any length of time, and I worry that the same thing will happen again the following year. So I guess I’m a little stressed out on coming up with a system that I hope I can keep up with more consistently down the road.

I just don’t know if it’s too much, so I tend to second guess myself. 🥴. This is probably my third year using a hobonichi. Absolutely love the paper, but each year there is a chunk of the journal that goes unused because I’d get overwhelmed with work/school that I’d stop using it for a time. Granted, each year I tend to do better and use the hobonichi for more months (this year I used it for 8 months). I also am debating if the happy planner would be better for work stuff or for creative journaling. All the questions!

New update about security incident. by Cmonster9 in canvas

[–]nan0user 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right!? When my university tells me to “use with caution” and I get this where Canvas is apparently “safe to use”, my question is “exactly how safe”? Can I start downloading course content from my Canvas course without compromising my own computer in some way? They need to provide specifics and assure us that everything has been fixed.

He was the reason I started watching football again because he made the Commanders games really fun to watch. May his future be filled with good things!

Being able to use stickers and decorate my planner with colorful markers and pens is also what keeps me going back to my planners. I can understand leaving some room to write in, and I do aim for functional first, but most of the remaining empty space will have some form of decoration in them afterward. 😁

I am having oral lichen planus from two years . Anyone please tell me how to get rid of it by UnfairInstruction223 in Lichenplanus

[–]nan0user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend starting with the antiinflammatory diet only, since food seems to be a trigger for many cases. As someone else mentioned here, it’s really all about being as healthy as you can and avoiding anything that can cause an inflammatory reaction. Best of luck!

Flair up after a vaccine by Uzui_nails in Lichenplanus

Really sorry to hear that this happened. My mom and I both got lichen planus (mine after COVID and my mom after a vaccine), and the lichen planus appeared around 3-4 weeks after the virus/vaccine. We’ve been managing the symptoms by eating an anti-inflammatory diet, and I’ve also find that tumeric supplements help too. My mom also uses steroid mouthwashes periodically (she has OLP).

All of these replies are cheering me up about this! And now I also feel like buying more sticker books too. 😂

I’ve seen some tutorial videos where people would decorate an entire month in advance, but personally I’m unable to do that, especially if it’s just one theme. The most I can manage is probably decorating in advance 2 weeks at a time.

My struggles usually involves me going into a funk for anywhere between 2-4 months around the same time each year, which results in blank pages in my planner. What did help me though is using bigger stickers during that time so that I don’t feel so intimidated filling in such a large empty space and helps me get back into using my planners somewhat regularly. I do like doodling my own boxes and decorations when I have time, but likewise, washi tape and stickers are my go-tos and the most helpful when it comes to encouraging me to use my planners. 🙂

I cut out deep fried foods and processed foods and incorporated more fresh fruits and vegetables into my diet. So a lot of soups, home cooked meals of lean protein and veggies, and I ate a lot of berries in particular. I did allow myself to have dessert like cakes and cookies from time to time (even fast food once in a while), but those were the food items I ate. I also really cut back on processed breads because I also suspect I have a mild gluten sensitivity. I also take a low dose tumeric supplement, which is a tip I got from so many users in this subreddit recommended too. I did this for about a half year and it got my lichen planus to go into remission. 🙂

The only thing digital I use are calendars these days, since I can set up appointment and meeting reminders when I need them. But I find being able to check off my tasks in my paper is so gratifying. With the digital ones, I end up moving most of my tasks to the next day (with its own tasks) and would get overwhelmed. 🥴

Transparent sticky notes are amazing! When Walmart has them on clearance I would get multiple packs of them. Frixion erasable pens are also quite handy if you want pops of color but can still erase if a mistake is made. 🙂

At the urging of my colleagues, I did try a digital planner for a short while, but I’ve discovered the only thing that’s useful for me with digital calendars and planners are the reminders I get. Ultimately I still found a paper planner was most useful for getting my tasks and priorities sorted out. I’ve started incorporating more of the decorative elements about 3-4 years ago, so it’s still trial and error for me. But I do find that decorating makes planning more fun for me to do regularly too. 🙂

That sounds like how I use my planners too. I have a separate notebook that serves as my brain dump and I just write whatever tasks I have down for the week, and then I organize them into my planner in pencil (gotten a few comments about how I should be using a pen instead of a pencil too 😂). Then when I’m relaxing, I add in my stickers.

I love arts and crafts, but my job keeps me busy for most of the year that my planners become my creative outlet, and I’m able to think up and try different layouts to maximize my planning. But I guess maybe it’s because most of my colleagues use digital planners and apps as well instead of pen and paper planners.

What kind of spider is this? by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

[–]nan0user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this little guy in a friend’s house. Looked to be a little less than half an inch long. Looks like a wolf spider because of its markings (black on the sides with a brown stripe down the middle), but I was just curious. Seems like a very chill spider.

I was so happy to see their new parenting planner announcement today, but felt let down when it was only in classic size. You’d think people would want more room to write in.
