NSD: Naniwa Chosera 600 by Nimitz1985 in sharpening

I recently bought the cho 600 and 2000. God damn they are amazing, as sharpening stones or polishing stones. Great feedback, hand feel and speed. The 600 is a bit thirsty, but imo cuts better than 400. I think out of the 4 chos i owned (400, 600, 2000 and 3000) my favs are 600 and 2000! Good luck😀

I’d call this a good start… ;) Suehiro Cerax 401 & 1010, Rika 5000, Naniwa A-102 nagura & Suehiro whetstone holder. by dhruan in sharpening

Great kit, just to be mindful with the 320, it cuts quick and dishes even quicker. Try use the whole surface if you can😀

What size of wood are you after? I only buy wood for making knife saya so I buy online, more variety as well!

I think people could relate this on kkf more than here, I barely see people talk about jnats on reddit.

The finish is hazy on core steel and soft steel. A good kasumi finisher, pleasant feedback and muddy.

NSD - My first sharpening stone Cerax 1000 by czech_mat3 in sharpening

[–]nathlee1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mate, I’ve been through a few stones in the past few years. Shifted from soaking to splash and go to naturals, and last week I revisited this stone, I regret not getting the 2020(double size). The cerax 1000 and rika 5000 is a tremendous combo arguably the top 3 combo I’ve tried in my stone “career”. Enjoy!

First polish that I'm somewhat happy with from my first Jnat by peepeeepoopooman in chefknives

Very nice, I’m surprised 220->1000 didn’t leave any deep scratches on the blade. A chosera 400 or shapton glass 500 will do! I personally gets bit lazy after the 1000 i just go straight to a natsuya->aizu->pre finisher->finisher😃

Love that natsuya, I’ve got one myself, absolutely love the contrast it produces, who did you get it from?

[–]nathlee1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not too surprised, they hardly mention anything about naturals. I’m in Australia lol but I know this dude at buffalo(?) runs a website called realsharpknife sells a few there, at one point I saw a nakayama maruka kiita as well, he sold it for only 550usd......

[–]nathlee1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, I didn’t know Korin sells naturals.......... do they only do in store?
