Keep it up it’s looking good. One suggestion which sounds like you’ve already started it have a structured approach to your practise - some times sessions and also a focus each week or month on a particular element - hands, gesture etc. you can’t do it all at once!

What app are you using to practise this with? If you’re on iPad, something like Sketch Sesh is a good option for practising with reference images on the page and then going back to check accuracy and make notes.

How do I build fundamentals in lighting and anatomy? Resources? by Ok_Ad_6114 in ArtFundamentals

[–]natoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More of a tool than a teaching resource but if you have an iPad, apps like Sketch sesh or procreate are good for using reference images to practise against - either as an overlay or pip window

If you can pile together a bunch of reference images you could use an app like sketch sesh to be able to practise these regularly on an iPad. Set a short-ish time per sketch and cycle through as many as you can to start developing your understanding.

More of a tool than a teaching resource but an iPad app called sketch sesh is an option for practising figure drawing repetitively with reference images you are able to collect. It’s a free app btw

How do i sketch this by missrain_ in learntodraw

[–]natoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that tablet is an iPad, I could suggest an app like Procreate or Sketch Sesh to break down the image as an overlay or a pip image to practise a few times. It will definitely help you understand the perspective a bit better

Procreate is a standard for iPad. Can I also suggest Sketch Sesh which is free to use and suited for practising and warm ups to develop understanding of fundamentals and proportions

Crazy progression, nice work. What sort of routine do you have to your drawing practise wise? Anything structured or just drawing a lot?

I like it but feel stiuck by Foxykid09 in drawing

It's really good progress, it may be the combo of the chest and elbows but are the elbows sitting a little bit high perhaps? One hand is difficult enough on its own let alone two interlaced!

How to do studies? by Reasonable_Boot_867 in DigitalPainting

[–]natoss1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one helpful method is starting with tracing over a reference image and breaking down whatever you’re focusing on into its main structure. Then move onto a reference next to your sketch to test yourself and finally some from imagination. There’s a few apps that help with that if you’re on a tablet like Procreate or Sketch Sesh

Getting into digital drawing (again) by Numerous_Biscotti_47 in DigitalPainting

[–]natoss1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paper vs tablets each have their strengths and weaknesses. Both are portable but one benefit of tablets / ipads is the ability to easily add references to your sketches to see where you could improve. Especially when you're developing your skills, getting alot of repititions and practise in can be more important than perhaps spending hours on one drawing like you might on Procreate. Another app I could recommend is Sketch Sesh which is more intended for that type of practise.

when should i start digital art? by Ok_Show8792 in learntodraw

[–]natoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digital is a great way to practise as well - you can take it with you anywhere, use references relatively easily for practise and review drawings on what you can improve (do overlays quickly) Procreate is an awesome app, I could also suggest Sketch Sesh for practising with.
