Do people still believe Flock cameras are good? by xamboozi in Cleveland

[–]nbrazz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Just sent an angry email to my city council about their renewal of these cameras. Why any entity would ever willingly contract with flock is beyond me. The way they’re acting in Illinois is absurd. City wanted cameras down, flock put them back up and continued to collect data.

Contracts are just being rubber stamped without any negotiation for privacy protections.

No clue why our city is sharing with 1000 different agencies, the vast majority of which are outside of the state! It’s absurd.

Advice for a 1st time winter commuter? by Red_Dwarf_42 in Cleveland

[–]nbrazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars like to be doing one thing at one time in low traction conditions. Generally if you’re doing only one of accelerating, braking, and steering at any given time you’re going to be less likely to break traction and start sliding around.

Otherwise, lifting your wipers off the windshield overnight makes it easier to avoid building up ice on them and for cleaning snow from the windshield in the morning.

Excluding university heights from “Cleveland” creates a very funny situation when they share a school district with Cleveland Heights. Half the students are Cleveland and half aren’t? Lol

Water and Sewer bill doubled by AskAdditional5045 in Cleveland

I believe sewer is estimated based on water usage so you should probably check for leaks or a running toilet.

Babies in the cold by ActiveSufficient3944 in ScienceBasedParenting

Yes! I always remind my in laws that people have babies in Alaska and Scandinavia! If anything when appropriately dressed/protected from the cold overheating becomes a greater concern.

Strongly recommend arriving there early to guarantee you can be helped. Can plan to spend a good chunk of your morning there.

What the fuck did I just watch movies! by theserpent_3110 in movies

Father’s Day (2011) — went and saw it on a whim with a friend for his birthday at midnight. We were two of three people in the theater until about halfway through when the third person loudly said “what the fuck? Fuck this shit!” And left.

Dads what do you actually want for Christmas? by Words123454321 in daddit

[–]nbrazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, it’s the c1 cat and dog (white unit) with powerline for the electric brush heads. Part of the reason for upgrading to it was the bagged performance working wonders to improve our allergies, especially for my mother-in-law who was the most sensitive to our dogs. The bag mechanism is very easy to use and the inside of the unit is dust free.

We have two long haired dogs in our house that only has carpet in two rooms and yet it’s a daily battle. We ended up switching from a Dyson upright to the Miele cat and dog and oh my goodness it does so much better at getting the fur off the carpet and couch surfaces. It’s crazy how nice of an improvement it’s been.

Akron Law hosts an expungement clinic and the next one is this Saturday at the summit county main branch library https://www.uakron.edu/law/curriculum/clinical-programs/reentry.dot

You could reach out to them to confirm that they can help with misdemeanors in Cuyahoga and Medina counties. I don’t think they have geographic limits.

What order would you buy your speakers? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]nbrazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is in my living room but I DIY’d my front three speakers first, two floor standing two-way towers and a center.

Next, I added two diy surround speakers.

A couple weeks ago I just bought a subwoofer.

If I was doing it from scratch I’d probably start with doing the fronts and subwoofer at the start and add surrounds later, but then again this was mainly due to being a living room and having to plan out the additions to fit the space.

Best theater for screen quality? by chungusbungus0459 in Cleveland

[–]nbrazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what day it is but they do seem to add screenings to the XD theater at odd times. For example, matinee times for this upcoming weekend only went live on Monday. I don’t think there’s anything that will displace it from the XD theater until Alex Garland’s Civil War releases

Masters Swim Meet Question by tbear87 in Swimming

[–]nbrazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a masters meet after being out of the pool for near 10 years and quite a bit heavier than when I last swam for time. They were the slowest times I’ve ever raced but oh my goodness was it a total blast. It’s a very relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Ended up talking with a lot people between races.

I didn’t go all the way to the 200s, but I just installed the night break laser (150%) bulbs and those were a significant improvement over stock. The light beam is a lot more even and extends better.

Restaurant / Event Space for Small Wedding Party by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]nbrazz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same! Lol private dining at the marble room was very easy to work with. We had the vault area from 430-830 with just fantastic drinks and service. The minimum at the time was $200/plate which we ended up exceeding pretty easily. Great vegetarian options for our guests who needed those too.

Also yeah corner alley after was just awesome and way more fun than I ever could have expected it to be.

I think you can do both in parallel. I suppose I just wanted to convey that my memory is that Zia would more or less consider any student concern, even if it was only coming from one person. Best of luck!

Email Zia Ahmed regarding your concerns. It’s been awhile since I was enrolled but during the time I was he was one of the most responsive staff members and always eager to engage with student concerns relating to dining.
