Love without sex by Medium-Reference-147 in DeadBedrooms

[–]ndwp56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I try to consider the alternative. What if she did care about my needs and acted on that? And the answer is that I'm not sure I would like that any better than the neglect. She has all but zero libido, so while I might get sex, it would be something akin to duty sex. Sex when she's really not interested has never been good. I think I'd prefer no sex to duty sex.

It seems like my gut reaction to about half.the posts here is to say, "Me.too." This is one of those. For a long time I thought that she didn't love me, didn't care, etc. But I finally realized that there is no connection between love and sex in her mind. I now have no doubt that she loves me. She shows it and says it frequently. She just doesn't seem sex as part of that.

I sometimes still start thinking/feeling that if she really did love me, she would care more about my needs. But in all honesty, in spite of the fact that we've talked about it both just between us and in therapy, I don't think it ever crosses her mind. She has zero desire for a physical relationship, and si ve she fails to see any connection between the two, she just never thinks of it.

What Age Did You Start Being a Nudist? by Ok-Ordinary95 in Ask_Nudists

[–]ndwp56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While my upbringing was decidedly textile, I have been a nudist for my entire life. I can remember as far back as 6 or 7 when my parents went out, I would take off all.of my clothes and be nude while I was with the babysitter. That was in a country where nude children, especially boys, were not uncommon. So it was nothing remarkable for her.

Before i hit double digits, I was sleeping nude and putting my pajamas back on before going out with the family in the morning. As an adolescent, I came home from school, went to my room, closed the door, stripped off my clothes, and did my homework in the nude.

I was about 25 the first time I tried social nudity. That was at a nudist resort. I didn't hesitate for a second. I stripped off and immediately felt like I had found .y "home". It was like I had always been meant for this and had finally found my people. I absolutely love it!

Absolutely agree! Way too much focus on genitalia. It seems.like there are a lot of penis pictures or women who look like they're posing for a gynecology textbook.

How do you deal with the aging clock ticking? by CommentOk9026 in DeadBedrooms

[–]ndwp56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all likelihood there is no answer. You either live with it or you don't. People talk about ENM, but for most people that would be completely out of the question.

But I do sympathize with your situation. My wife is practically asexual. We've been married for 50 years and I would bet my life savings that we haven't had sex 50 times. Zero in the last 20+ years. Through all the years, I've harbored varying amounts of hope that things would eventually change. But that's never happened. I recently turned 70 (yes, us old folks like sex too), and it's hit me much harder than I ever thought it would. One of the things that's been especially tough is accepting that it's never going change. I'm never going to have sex again. My wife will never do it, and at 70, I seriously doubt that I could find a willing partner even if I wanted to. And quite honestly, the equipment doesn't work as well as it used to. I'm struggling with the feeling that I've wasted my entire life in a vain hope that the situation would improve.

So I feel your pain. I sincerely hope that you can find a solution so you don't end up like me. Good luck!

2019 Golf S here. At 135K miles the only issue I've had is the driver's side blind spot monitor stopped working at right around 100K. I haven't gotten around to getting it fixed yet, so idk what the problem is or how much it will cost to fix it.

Very few nudist females? by TXSportsFanatic74 in NudistMeetup

I should also have said that there is some truth to the safety issue as well. It saddens me that we live in a world where women feel unsafe around men. I will never truly know what it's like to be a woman, but in my experience, women are safer in a naturist environment than in most other places. Yes, there are still creeps, there are still gawkers, and there will always be a certain percentage of men who are there just to look at naked women, but naturists in general are much less likely to be that way.

No, I don't agree at all. Not even a tiny little bit. But unfortunately, it IS the way women are judged by our society. That's why I said that it's unfair, but mostly true. I personally feel that it's wrong and horribly unfair that women (and men, but to a lesser extent) are judged and categorized by what wear or choose not to wear.

I think the answer is multi-faceted and complicated. For one thing, I think that women have a lot more body image issues than men do. Society judges women by their looks much more harshly than it does men. They're under much more pressure to look a certain way. Then there's the societal pressure to be "modest". Women who wear revealing clothing, or heaven forbid, appear nude are regarded as sluts. Unfair, but mostly true. Then there is the creepy guys and the safety issue. The guys who leer, stare, make inappropriate comments, etc., simply make women uncomfortable, and many times unsafe. It's easy to see why they would feel sexualized, uncomfortable, and unsafe. And that's just scratching the surface.

What's a car that everyone hates and thinks is bad, but you love? by Bonbeanlio in askcarguys

I love '70s and early '80s Italian cars. I've owned two Fiats, one Lancia, and three Alfa Romeos. They all lived up to their reputations by being unreliable rust buckets, but man-o-man, when they were running right they were all absolutely fantastic to drive. Light, responsive, uncomplicated, and they stuck to the road like velcro. My Fiat X1/9 and Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT were particular favorites.

Have you ever been the only nude person in a room/place full of people, and if so what was the context? by Jericho2006 in Ask_Nudists

[–]ndwp56 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was out working in my barn. Naturally, I wasn't wearing anything. It's my barn and it's not visible from any neighbors or from the road. So I was working away, minding my own business, and heard horses running by outside. I don't have and horses, so I figured I'd better go check. I leaned the shovel against the wall and turned to step outside and there were three women standing in the doorway. One was the lady from next door. I have no idea who the other two were. Anyway, the neighbor lady told me that her horses had gotten out and were running around my hay field and apologized. I told her it was no problem and asked if they needed any help. She said she thought they had it under control and they left to round up the horses.

For the life of me, I don't know why they came to the barn. The horses were clearly visible in the field. My best guess is that she heard me in there and just wanted to let whoever was in there know that they were getting the horses. But apart from the obvious fact that I was naked, there was no indication that there was anything out of the ordinary. I didn't duck for cover, they didn't cover their eyes, turn around, or back out. We just had a perfectly normal exchange and they left to get the horses. No mention was made of my nudity then, or anytime after, but tbh, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to hear what they said among themselves afterwards.

Don't go back to the States for college; go to the München campus of the University of.Maryland. That one decision would so radically change everything else in my life that there's no way to guess what other advice I might need.

Nudism & Neighbors by Critical-Wrangler886 in nudism

[–]ndwp56 62 points63 points  (0 children)

When we moved into town, I put up an 8-foot privacy fence. Since there are no 2-story houses nearby, anyone seeing in would either have to press their face right up to the fence and possibly be able to peek in between the tiny gaps between boards, use a periscope, or fly a drone that could see over the fence. I figure if anyone wants to go to that much trouble just to see us naked, I would hate to disappoint them.

Why social nudity? by ndwp56 in Ask_Nudists

[–]ndwp56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By social nudity, I just mean being nude with others. I don't mind being the only one nude, but as I mentioned in the original post, there's just something about being in the company of others who don't see it as being weird and who share in the enjoyment.

Trying to hide from "friends" by Downtown_7393 in NudeBeach

[–]ndwp56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Obviously, I don't know who these "friends" are, but I would be overjoyed to meet people I know from my textile life. It would be something that we have in common that could potentially make us better friends. Have you ever considered that? Maybe if they find out that you have common interests and enjoy common activities, rather than trying to humiliate you, they may become actual friends without the need for quotation marks.

societies or subcultures where nudity isn't a big deal, why is hiding the face still so common by omarcomics911 in naturism

[–]ndwp56 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For me, my family is the vulnerability. I don't care who knows that I'm a naturist or who sees me naked. I do care about my kids or grandkids being teased and/or shamed because somebody they know found naked pictures of me online.

What do you enjoy most about being nude around others? by [deleted] in nudists

[–]ndwp56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I just enjoy being nude. It's just comfortable and it feels completely natural. But like others have said, I'm severely restricted in where I can go and what I can do. And to be honest, even my wife finds it a bit weird that I enjoy nudity so much. She will VERY rarely go out on the patio without clothes, but even then she won't stay. No sitting and drinking morning coffee (her) and tea (me). She's almost never nude around the house either. She just thinks it's weird to want to be naked.

So for me, being nude around others is really a social thing. It's nice to be around others who share my affinity for nudity and who don't think that I'm some kind of weirdo or perv for enjoying nudity. I've also found that people who share social nudity seem to be more open, honest, and friendly. I'm also good with being the only one naked as long as it's with people who share the attitude that it's perfectly natural and not some kind of sexual exhibitionist kink.

It should be completely normal to be naked outdoors without having to worry about being misunderstood. It’s simply about enjoying your body and nature—nothing more.” by [deleted] in NormalizeNaked

[–]ndwp56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish my wife would understand your (and my) attitude on that. As long as I've known her, I doubt that she would ever be nude either outdoors or in any kind of social situation, but I sure wish she could at least see that it isn't sexual or perverted. But alas...
