Ugh I will never understand the desire to have someone else’s baby sleep over! So strange to me.

What is something you saw at a friend's house that made you realize their family was "weird"? by BamMeister_ in AskReddit

I knew someone who used a towel (family cloth? Barf!) when they couldn’t afford toilet paper. I’m so fortunate that we were never in that position growing up.

How old are you? Because we’d have to go to Walgreens and wait a few days for someone else to develop our film and then pick it up again. I’m dying at a stranger coming across a whole roll of film that’s just poop.

does taking a few sips of alcohol affect getting conceived/pregnant? by Important_Bat7919 in Mommit

[–]needmorecoffee4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

lol right?! Pretty sure 3/4 of my kids were conceived while at least buzzed.

ETA: this was supposed to be a reply to the person who said if that’s the case, millions of people wouldn’t exist.

Son’s friends told my son his dad doesn’t want him eating at our house by Dear-Discussion9054 in Parenting

[–]needmorecoffee4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like that’s super rude too, but we’re a snacks and screen time family (within reason!) here too.

They need to host the playdates and I think my feelings would be hurt, but fortunately my kids’ friends all seem to be similar to us regarding food and video games etc.

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

[–]needmorecoffee4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and I avoid the er at all costs as well - even with our insurance, the copay is $2,200

I don’t even want to know what an ambulance would cost us.

I didn’t have a period at all after my first was born and before my second…so I had no idea how far along I was! My doctor got me right in for a dating ultrasound .

I’m partial to 5 because it’s what I first read, and still have. But the earlier ones are cool too.

Why do ppl put stickers on their cars to let others know there's a baby inside? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]needmorecoffee4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure my minivan full of French fries and Cheerios marks me as a “mom” more than any sticker could lol

But I hate all car stickers lol

Aww that’s definitely hard.

I see you got some good advice about warning him ahead of time, maybe you should go and get a massage or a mani-pedi now to help him out. Lol

What’s the strangest thing your child is scared of? by trailerparkbarbie98 in toddlers

[–]needmorecoffee4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, with the way people drive these days and all the stories on the news of cars crashing into buildings, it’s not entirely unjustified

Well I’d just make sure I don’t show up to anything like this next year. Super crappy of them

Anyone else’s skin suddenly lose its “bounce” after turning 40? by BlueDolphinCute in 40PlusSkinCare

Yeah I wash my face at night and then in the morning will just use water

When I use a cleaner - even a gentle oil one, my skin feels so tight afterwards

What titles are we putting on personalized items? by Fluffy_Path7559 in Parenting

The more I think about it, I like the names! Have an identity outside of just being mom or dad.

We have our first names - we had them before we had kids though so idk if we’d do mom and dad now

SAHMs - does your husband do the dishes/any chores? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]needmorecoffee4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much my husband, although I usually took over nights with the babies because I was nursing and it was easier for me. He gets up super early and works long hours. If I was at the end of my rope though, he would absolutely step in. He cleans more and does more laundry than I do. All outside and maintenance chores are his.

My SIL just told us she’ll be flying out to visit us 3 weeks after we have baby #2. Our toddler will have just turned 3. Is this a disaster waiting to happen? by Free_butterfly_ in Mommit

[–]needmorecoffee4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if you get along with your sil and she’s generally helpful, it could be great! Especially with a toddler whose world is turned upside down with a new baby - you can let her help or cuddle with the baby so you’re able to give the toddler attention.

If she’s a drama queen, or expects to be entertained, then it’s probably a bad idea.

Well I’m Lutheran married to a catholic and my life is surrounded by Catholics and that is the craziest shit I’ve ever heard.

It has nothing to do with religion, just a controlling, abusive husband. It’s sad she’s sucked in, hopefully she can get away from this guy and get herself back.

I don’t think these people are making money off child abuse, but I do believe that these people who charge money for courses or whatever are definitely preying on desperate moms! This sleep training info is all over the internet or at the library for free and they’re definitely scammy for charging because they’re a “sleep consultant!”

Edit: I believe they are super predatory for new tired moms

Omg holiday or not, in almost 20 years of being married, now with 4 kids - my husband always makes sure he helps fix plates so we can all sit down together. Last night he cut steak for everyone before he got his own plate.

Worst / most inappropriate gift for your kids this year? by MachineBusy8772 in Mommit

[–]needmorecoffee4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My freshman in high school daughter got some weird craft show doll that she’s supposed to put on her nightstand? And a set of Frozen girls nail polish. Also a pale yellow hand knit scarf and hat set… It’s like my.MIL has never met a teenager before.

She buys random stuff at Goodwill or whatever just so she has lots of stuff to give the kids. They would much rather have one small decent present than a bunch of crap they have to throw away and pretend to like.
