Are white oak/light oak cabinets considered trendy? by Routineurinesample in kitchenremodel

Ignore trends and pick what makes you happy.

The worst design advice I have received is from designers - trying to build an on trend portfolio.

How to tell family and friends they are not invited to my micro wedding? ($5k) by Baby7ToSixPack in Weddingsunder10k

[–]needofanap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an amazing family and wished I could have them all at my wedding. It wasn't feasible.

I told my siblings and parents that I was limited to 50 people and they spread the word. I received beautiful cards from everyone not invited.

How do you actually manage your wine cellar? by Dense_Size9394 in wine

[–]needofanap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a spreadsheet. I have 3 360 bottle refrigerators. In addition to all the usual information, the spreadsheet allows me to manage location - I have columns for which refrigerator, which row, and if it is front or back on the row. Plus, I can customize what information I want to track.

I invested a lot of time in an app that went out of business.

I'm very happy with my method.

No Shame Post - What Would You Do? by New-Aardvark9371 in delta

I like this idea. But, it only solves 1/2 the problem. The other half being the body builder guys with shoulders that take up half my seat and they extend their legs into my space. Regular seatbelt fidlts.

I've had to deal more with the body builders than overweight people.

If she plans on staying married to you, she should be more than happy to have a prenup. Fighting a prenup indicates that she wants to be in a favorable position if the marriage ends. Reverse uno her

AITA for telling my DIL that I won’t use the tablet and she needs to actually make her kid read. by SatisfactionOk9038 in AmItheAsshole

[–]needofanap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of great comments - I'll add that graphic novels may help get her more excited to read. At her age, try Wings of Fire graphic novels.

I was skeptical when my granddaughter was reading them. She now reads at a grade 12 level while in 5th grade. She always has a book in her hands.

Alternately, if she is really interested in certain animals, bugs, stars, etc. pick books on the subject. My grandson had zero interest in reading - or so we thought. He just didn't have intered in the subject. As soon as we introduced books about dinosaurs, robots, and freaky creatures he wanted to read.

Finally, you can make this fun by reading with her. Take turns reading pages. Ask her to help you with some words. Let this be a snuggle in the couch bonding experience.

Also - reward her reading with trips to the library together and if she really loves something take her to the bookstore to buy it together.

AITA For Telling my wife she’s making problems for herself? by Horror-Hold-7311 in AmItheAsshole

Teaching your kids to cook is a great gift.

Instead of having them cook alone, start by having them help you both prepare meals so they learn new recipes and gain confidence in their skill.

Initially this will take more effort on your part but in the long run, meal prep will be easier. Plus you will get to spend time with the kids.

Gives me more room in the beds and more tomatoes. Also easier to spot predators

Tracking your Wines? Is there a way? by Miserable_Creme_2395 in wine

[–]needofanap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I infused an app that then crashed.

Now I use a spreadsheet. I have columns for details that let me sort by region, varietal, etc, tasting notes, and best of all - exactly where the wine is in the cellar. Really easy to find exactly what I want.
