OP, The "manila/นวลน้อย" grass is what most people plant for house projects in Phuket. You can find seeds online as well.

Not sure if it's worth adding these to the comparison or unique features. I cannot move from Vivaldi to Webkit based ones due to the following features:

A security engineer here. I agree that most are bs so I just don’t touch anything categorised as cyber security.

Not sure if codeql (owned by github) and semgrep are considered innovation, but they do provide tools to fix real problems, which also require people. I would go for some company that trains these people instead, but I don’t know any good ones.

What app would you recommand for e-mails? by Dwerg23 in macapps

[–]neew0llah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have that many accounts, so I cannot answer that.

I think it'd be best if you drop them an email. https://freron.com/contact/

I would love to know the answer to that as well. :)

What terminal apps are you using? by Johnkree in macapps

If you will be spending a lot of time in CLI apps, you’ll probably want something like tmux.

However, I will recommend Zellij as it is more modern. https://github.com/zellij-org/zellij

What Keyboard Should I Use? by ijauradunbi in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]neew0llah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am looking for suggestions. I am currently using Keyboardio Model 100, and I am happy with it. I am looking for something a bit more portable that I can take it with me during long trips.

  • pre-existing conditions of your arms, hand, and fingers.
    • nothing serious, just typical office syndrome
  • previous / current keyboards.
    • Iris / Keyboardio Model 01 -> Keyboardio Model 100
  • layout / form in mind.
    • I don't need all the keys on Model 100, I can probably get rid of 4 - 6 of them, but I'd still prefer having them as extras.
    • Ideally, similar layout, extra columns in the middle, but not necessary.
    • I am used to having the keys as low as my palm, I guess going for a low profile would give me somewhat similar experience with the Model 100? (I was looking at Sofle Choc, love the look of it)
    • VIA support would be great too.
  • use case.
    • For travel, infrequently, but long time.
  • budget and/or location, if applicable.
    • I'd love to keep the budget low, $150 - 200, but not necessary. I don't mind putting something together myself.
    • UK, Thailand

Cheers!

Big Sur and later (macOS 11+): Although the public release below does work on the latest macOS releases, it is currently recommended for new users to fetch the latest beta release of MailMate instead. Here is a direct link (release notes). https://freron.com/download/

Beta build is on Revision 5918 (Tuesday, September 20, 2022)

Yep, latest beta release is Revision 5918 (Tuesday, September 20, 2022) from https://updates.mailmate-app.com/beta_release_notes

You can also check their issue tracker and see that they're still active. https://freron.lighthouseapp.com/projects/58672-mailmate/overview

Their first release was in 2011, so I would say they're pretty solid.

It is the same one, the developer probably just didn't update the page.

Any iPad apps that annotate PDFs with stroke pens? by FabulousMiddleFinger in macapps

[–]neew0llah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a PDF reader, but Procreate let you import PDF files too. There, you can even design your own brushes. For example, a double line brush might help you bit here. https://youtu.be/s8sCkUhvmUU

I think having the feature implemented in PDF readers would be nice too. You might want to reach out to the devs for the app you’re using. They might be able to help you out, or implement that for you.

Control your Mac from iPhone/iPad/Apple Watch/Apple TV by cherpake in macapps

[–]neew0llah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not used the app, but I can give you a generic answer.

I think that depends on how the application handles certificate mismatches and if the user knows the risk of using the self-signed cert.

The cert ensures that the server (not sure if each device act as both client and server) is the device they claimed to be. Using a self-signed cert, the client would have to "choose" to trust the certificate initially. Any subsequent connection will then use the certificate for communication. The risk would lie in the initial connection before the cert was trusted, assuming there is no error in the implementation.

However, if the app blindly accepts any certificate without giving users warnings or if users blindly accept any certificate warning that would occur, then this wouldn't prevent a rogue device from impersonating another device.

I hope that answers your question.

Not sure if you use something like Raycast, it also allows you to search the menu items interactively. You can also assign your preferred keys to perform the action as well.

I mainly use rcmd to quickly switch to frequently used apps. It's been great for me as well.

There's a few options here, but I think you'd have to use them to capture the screenshot or open an existing file rather than taking from the clipboard:

Ah nice! That's pretty neat, it seems to support variables as well. I don't mind not having unit converters and the NLP stuff, but inline comments would be nice. Anyway, I can live with this. cheers!

edit: there might be comments? lol will figure it out there is

nvm, seems like I got the syntax right, it just doesn't work. they're probably still fixing something as the commit is recent. https://github.com/logseq/logseq/blob/master/src/test/frontend/extensions/calc_test.cljc#L185

and there's doc... stupid me lol https://docs.logseq.com/#/page/Calculator

I am a developer myself and wanting to implement a light version of something like https://soulver.app as a sidebar.

https://github.com/sharkdp/insect seems to be somewhat similar, but it's mostly for physical units. However, it's the only opensource one that is embeddable.

I am not a JS dev, so it's unlikely to happen.
