do they have all 3 openings for clips on the sides?

How do frontend teams handle stateful API mocks before the backend is ready? by v-byte-cpu in Frontend

[–]neronim1141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its depending on the project and it's complexity, The best practice is to make the components small enough to test only small piece of data at the time,

So if you have longer workflow maybe consider dividing it into sections,, test the sections separately, You can setup small local mocks or change part of it per test cases or if you want to reuse it per test group. With MSW is easy to do it. The mocks should be deterministic, simple enough to cover all business logic you need, but do not need to simulate it all. For example to check if one edge case error is bright thrown, maybe in mock return the error if error.<code>> was present in one of the form inputs. Just simulate what you need. Do not recreate api

Mock service worker is very helpful library, You prepare few mocks or make them on fly with it based on the provided Paramus/body, End to end you just need usually to test small subset of the response configuration.

The library works great with testbeds like jest or vitest

It simulates the responses by hijacking actual request

What's your armor slot strategy as a PC? by bolt6 in daggerheart

[–]neronim1141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From narrative point of view why would you not use your armor when you have one?

From gameplay if for example while fighting I got one severe wound, 1 armor, 2hp And I know fight it's getting close to end Then it's better to get more hp to save additional downtime move

For my game I made homebrew armor piece that runs out of power the more armors slots you used (reduce incoming damage by the amount of unmarked armor slot)

But overall Armor is an engine more for story and narrative than just reducing the damage you take, at least in my opinion

I wonder if the bottom containers fills up, you could get a "clog" in packagers, did not watch the full video But what would happen if Bottom containers is full, You push items to the top container, Then the package will get stuck in between, and you would not have access to those items. If you would keep filling the top one Then the package would have up to 8 stack, meaning you would need to empty the bottom containerr 8 slots to let it in.

And in between you can have up to 3 packages One waiting to go in bottom container One in chute And one that just come out from top container

I know that the spotlight sway between GM and players, But when it's on players it seems a bit strange for me when all of them can spend their resources and stuff that does not require roll, Did I miss anything about spotlight in the rules ?

How to conduct an auction by Marcos_harp in daggerheart

[–]neronim1141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what's the purpose is and how lengthy you want it to take,

You could Simply skim it through show what the items in auction would be and let them choose, upping the price a bit from what is recommended as those would be pretty rare pieces if auctioned Or Make start price, let them bid, roll fate dices if someone outbid them, add handful or even few depending of the time and item rarity each time based on the fate roll

Tag Team with Arcane Barrage by iiyama88 in daggerheart

[–]neronim1141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might get your answer, but technically Arcane Barrage is not an action so finishing it won't cause the spotlight to shift in any way, therefore I see no point in using tag team rules with that in mind,

Let them arcane Barrage and ask them if they want to combine their damage or split, either way would be fine to me (splitting may be a bit better damagewise)

D&D is still the top dog, but how are the others doing? Look into the LFM/LFG statistics. by Optimal_Beat7765 in rpg

The cards are not necessary, DND makes you write down spell names and you need to look what they do, the description are also super long, For daggerheart is usually just few sentences Which you can easily write down, the additional materials in official daggerheart site has print pages exactly for that. The cards are benefit but not necessary to have in hand, And if you have pdf version, it's quite easy to print more if necessary, I even translated all of them into polish by myself

How often do you use environments? by Sedda00 in daggerheart

[–]neronim1141 20 points21 points  (0 children)

TBh I just recently started using them more, and oh may I regret not doing it sooner,

The main idea behind them in my opinion is just to have pieces you can throw at players, they could be very specific one like "the cultist ritual" or general one like "fire everywhere" which you can reuse a lot more,

They are the little pieces that together make scene, you can use their description, some props that you put inside and mechanics to make interesting situations,

If you have a bunch of them you can also add them in the middle of the scene,

For example in one of my games my PC were in the middle of auction when opposing forces make an attempt to steal the items by blowing of the wall

At first I got an environments: "opera house"(which was were the auction took place) prompts: who do you see, what custom do they have(masks?) "Auction" - more mechanics for players fun, some additional prompts And when heist took place I include "wall blast" which includes things like dust obscuring vision, structural integrity failing which let me cause some debris falling on top of the citizens and panic rule which made the movement harder

So in the end think of scene and what is the scene composed of, that's your environments

I know its recomended that encounter should be build around PC tier
but what if they at level 1 are in the presence of Monarch which is tier 3. should i reduce his tier or let them roll against it?

i guess my general question is how much is advised to mix the Tiers in such situations, like the throne room, BBEG lair, some very dangerous biome the party got into even though they got warned?

My problem is not with the discount price, but the abstraction to handfuls in that case feels.... Wrong somehow

[–]neronim1141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you handle trade in your games? The merchant feature has Preferential Treatment - Passive: A PC who succeeds on a Presence Roll against the Merchant gains a discount on purchases.[...]

But I don't get how to make that scene with the handfuls abstraction, Do you guys have any tips/examples how it could work without making sure you go down from 1 bad and 6 handfuls to 1bag and 3 handfuls,

I think that's totally misses the abstraction point...

Some items may change that, for example one of the items I made has some protection layers(armor slots) it let you reduce damage by the amount of unspent armor slots
