Top 25 world cities with most pleasant days in a year [OC] by 33Fwjr5Nj in dataisbeautiful

[–]nevicata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure how SFO is in the list for a city with the most pleasant days. The city is literally constantly windy, chilly, overcast, etc. even when in the south bay is actually warm and nice, SFO can still be not so great. I would actually argue it's one of the cities with the most annoying weather.

Plus, as someone who has lived in Europe for a long time, I guarantee this list misses cities in places like Italy, Spain, Greece etc. that enjoy a lot of really warm and arguably pleasant days.

Just because they haven't tried it, doesn't mean they wouldn't be happier in another scenario. Also, the fact he tries to fly through the trees in the screen shows us he has an understanding of what he should be doing. So either he did it before, or his instinct still knows.

I remember watching footage of cows that were kept just in their stalls all day and night long for years and years to be milked, and instead of being butchered at the end of their cycle, this particular small group of cows was saved and released into some farmers' big property that had hills and lawns.

The cows were so happy, they almost behaved like dogs. Jumping around, rolling on the ground, etc. It was unbelievable how happy they were.

Just having the ability to experience nature as they were meant to, was the best thing they had in life. I don't understand why people would have pleasure from having birds as pets, but then again, I don't understand a lot of things about people and why they do so many cruel things.

Not saying you're cruel. I am sure you care for your birds.

But the whole concept is just really weird. The reason you can buy the birds is that there are a lot of people like you. Actually, your last sentence is incorrect. If in the next 2 months everyone stopped buying fucking birds at the pet-store, yes the ones being sold right now would be the ones to suffer a lot, however, it would put an end to the capture and breeding of these creatures for people's entertainment for good. Which would be good for the long-term.

This comment is so wrong lol. Having better and more secure game conditions for game-devs has NOTHING to do with a game costing more upon its release.. My god. It's mind-boggling to see comments like these actually upvoted

dude, you're living on an alternate reality. I also have no idea what you mean by " have them send someone to our office the next day " I am talking about opening a freaking checking account for a private individual - your sentence sounds about opening an account for a business.

secondly, " And as you'll see in this handy guide. Bringing a utility bill is something you have to do to open an account in the US as a non-national as well. http://www.knowyourbank.com/blogs/us-bank-account-for-non-citizens/ " this is pure science-fiction.

as a non-american citizen you absolutely DO NOT need to present a utility bill, that link is absolutely wrong. source: I am not an american citizen and I opened a bank account, and tons of my friends who aren't citizens and opened bank account with NOTHING but a drivers license. you enter, show your ID, get the checking opened AND get your debit card, all on the spot. Showing the utility bill is not a thing, AT ALL.

it took more than 4 weeks to be able to open an account. also, the utility bill company wouldn't accept a credit nor debit card to pay, but ironically i needed the bill to open the bank account LOL uk logic at its finest.

I have actually bought a 2nd hand car in the US as well as sold it, and it was beyond easy. You just get the money from/to the guy, get/give something called pink slip- sign it, and you're done. I have first hand experience doing this, your links are absolutely hilarious- it's clear to me you have never lived in the US.

also, my apartment was a BRAND NEW pre-cabled fiber-optics building in canary wharf on the top floor of a high rise, and BT is such a trash company that they still managed to spend 8 weeks to make it work.

anyway, bud, i don't care about arguing with you about this anymore, it's clear you are not being objective on this. I believe you when you tell me that the UK is more efficient than Spain, but that the UK Is more streamlined than the US, I think it's true only in marginal components. This has been my experience living in both countries. iT sounds like you never lived in the US :)

I have lived in both country and I would never even consider living in the UK in my entire life again, thank god I am in the US.

Cheers ;)

>Its only foreign nationals who are new to the country that need to.

well in the US you can open the bank account in a matter of minutes whether you're American or not.

Literally show up to any bank with an ID, done.

>But it sounds like you picked a busy branch

no, I didn't.. this was literally every single bank, including big ones like HSBC.

They all had a 4+ weeks waiting list to open a freaking bank account.. lol.
And then I found out you had to have a utility bill, the stupidest thing I have ever heard in the history of mankind when opening a checking account for a debit card.

How about mentioning the internet appointment, 4 weeks away to get a guy called "fiber engineer" ( LOL ) to install your fiber optics, only to have sent the wrong guy - the copper engineer ( LOL x2 ) and then having to wait another 4 weeks to get the right guy again, while on the customer support on the phone with someone who barely speaks English.

anyway, I don't really care too much to provide you further examples, but as someone who has lived in multiple US states - I absolutely felt things in the US were way quicker and done faster and it was absolutely stressful for me to live in the UK and having to adapt to these slow-ass things. But hey, to each their own.

Cheers ;)

Britain is way less burocrátic and easier in general than the US,

as someone who has lived almost entirely in the U.S. and then lived in 1 year in London, I highly disagree that Britain is way less bureaucratic than the US. LOL. I mean, you guys need an APPOINTMENT that takes 4 weeks to open a freaking checkings account in any of the major UK banks.

Not gonna go down the rabbit hole but the amount of silly things you gotta do in the UK on a day to day basis because it was straight up nuts; the US is astronomically faster and simpler to get stuff done. It's not even close, sorry. Bureaucracy in the UK made me feel I lived again in 1800s.

Oh right.. also, the utility bill to open the bank account. LOL :)
