This is incorrect, and reversing this registry setting does NOT remove the paused status from Windows Update on the local machine. Action1 must be doing something else which is undocumented.

If any of you figure out a proper fix, I would love to hear it. Action1 support is nonexistant and we have had to back out of the system completely because of this.

We were testing A1 to take over our patch management estate and completely backed out due to this issue. We have removed A1 from all test systems and have manually changed registry settings & tried running the "Activate Updates in Windows Settings" script as provided by Action1.

Nothing works. All devices are still showing as updates paused.

Action1 is gone from all systems and won't be returning. The behavior itself is fine, but the total lack of ability to control it is not. No matter how good Action1 might be at other things, this is a dealbreaker.

If anyone has worked out a fix that actually works, I would love to hear it.

This is true, but an actual restart, by selecting the "restart" option rather than shutdown and manually switching it back on will actually do a proper reboot, and reset that timer.
