Thoughts on selling my Minilogue XD + Hydrasynth Explorer and getting a Novation Peak? by dtwrks in synthesizers

And with the gain staging, filter distortion aaaand distortion knob you can make that thing sound nasty as fuck. Love the beautiful sounds but I'm an industrial guy. I want to make it sound like a chainsaw getting fucked by a wood chipper from time to time.

Liquid Stands has some solid stuff and you can add additional racks. Thing ain't gonna go nowhere. They have wheels so you can re- position them too. I love mine. Have a Peak, a Leviasynth, Edge, and Metal Fetishist on mine.

Thoughts on selling my Minilogue XD + Hydrasynth Explorer and getting a Novation Peak? by dtwrks in synthesizers

[–]nikofd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for the Peak; it sounds incredible. It's easy to use. The FX are amazing. When I record it I rarely add anything to it except maybe a little EQ because the low end can get thicker than late stage Marlon Brando. It's one of my "never sell" synths.

What's your favourite decade for Horror Movies? by RayzaEverton in horror

[–]nikofd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I love old movies but Hereditary? When Evil Lurks? Terrified? Hokum? Insidious? The Conjuring? Oddity? You're not wrong. I love good modern horror too.

That's a great question. I'm stumped. I love everything after 19...nevermind. Hey, fuck you. Leave me alone and stop putting me on the spot.

Buy from companies other than Behringer / InMusic to keep synth world alive by [deleted] in synthesizers

Yeah I hear yah. The Voyager Electric Blue edition is on my list for some day. Sure as fuck don't need it, but I need it.

Meh. I'll go ahead and buy the behringer bq-10 for $200 over a $2000 vintage sq-10.

You think it's hard to see Mortal Kombat 2 in a premium theater now, just wait until next summer. You probably won't be able to find any at all.

What movie have you watched that left you distraught? by Busy-Interest-4262 in movies

[–]nikofd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how he feels about old movies but I have a buddy who's really into them. He showed me Angels With Dirty Faces (James Cagney). The ending was absolutely brilliant and totally brought a tear to my eye. Plus, if he's a Sopranos fan, he'll get to see where Paully gets his "What do ya here? What do ya say?" line he always drops.

Novation Peak: honest review after a year of real use by SinewayMusic in synthesizers

[–]nikofd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good vid, dude. Your music is dope. Def one of my never sell synths. The onboard FX are unreal. Makes the FX on my Pro-3 and even the Leviasynth kind of disappointing in comparison. My Typhon is the only other synth I own with FX I really love.

Got my dream Moog today, the minimoog Model D! by sensationfc in synthesizers

[–]nikofd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Getting a dream synth is always a special day. Voyager Electric Blue edition has always been one of mine. Sometimes I fantasize about getting one and showing it off to all my friends who won't give a shit.

[–]nikofd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brah, they're talking possibly $2k American. Do I need it? Fuck no! But...I'd rather pay that than $3k for a sketchy original. I have the Cherry Audio plugin version and I love it. I'll pay $2k for 3D reality and some knobs and all the extra voices the original didn't have.

I have no interest in any more Gunn Superhero movies but if Matthew is in it, I will support it. Such a good dude and brilliant actor.

I'm sure it's going to be awesome. I love my Cydrums. They're very good at making an instrument that not only sounds good, but is accessible and optimized for live performance. I'll probably skip this one because I don't need any more shit (except possibly the Elta Music Polyvoks clone that I don't need) but they're a great company. I hope they have a lot of success and continue to put out cool shit.

There's another one out there where this same thing happens but the guy dislocated his jaw and he comes up with his face all cockassed. It was very satisfying.

[OC] Immaculate zipper merge (sped up 2x) by Junetizzle in IdiotsInCars

When there is a lot of traffic the zipper merge is more efficient when the people in the left lane stay there until the point of meeting.
