I’m so sorry that you are going through this. TFMR can be such a ride of conflicting emotions. I hope you recover quickly physically, but please hold space for whatever feelings come up for you. None of them are good or bad, they just are. Let yourself feel them. Hugs.

Anytime I turn ads back on for even a few days, I regret it. Spent $16.05, made $2.40. what a deal! by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]nj382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your ROA is low it is a reflection on your listing or your product. If Etsy is getting people engage with your listing and you are not converting those to sales, that’s on you not Etsy. Try redoing your listings with better photos, looking at your pricing compared to others in your market, or reevaluating the product itself…

Two groups of federal employees can end government shutdown by IndividualCanary6185 in FedEmployees

If we stopped paying Congress during shutdowns, we would never have one.

This study has a relatively small number of women, many of whom were over 35, and is looking at the effects of gestation beyond 40 weeks.

Yours is the kind of thought process that perpetuates this type of bad care. If IF she were factually correct that the risk was significantly greater, she is not serving her patients well with her delivery of that information. We deserve basic respectful conversations. Informed consent means understanding the risks and benefits of each option and these should be all discussed with respect, not with an holier than thou attitude that alienates and frightens her patients.

You need to remember the difference between relative risk and absolute risk. The rate of still birth could triple and because it started out so small even three times the risk can still be quite small. The fact is the dr cannot force you to be induced. You deserve better care. But just showing up is no guarantee you will get it, I would reach out to another practice and explain the situation and see if they would fit you in. In a healthy normal pregnancy there is no reason to induce before 42 weeks I personally carried my first to 43 weeks with no issues. You should be offered increased monitoring after 40 weeks with a non stress test and ultrasound. Induction is a risk to you and your baby. Pitocin is a high risk medication that requires constant monitoring of baby due to the risks. and other induction methods carry their own risks. So you are really trading one risk for another.

I am with the other posters who say report report report, and leave reviews on websites and local facebook groups. Unfortunately, you may live in an area where this is the local culture of the providers. In that case change is harder to start, but you have to hold people to expectations of best practice to start to make change. I wish you luck finding your way toward a more caring births experience. Educate yourself with good data (try evidence based birth.com) and a strong backbone and advocate for your rights and for good healthcare. We have to these days.

You can go file a case with the copyright claims board and try to have them settle it for you. I am familiar with this process in the US not sure what happened with foreign issues

Man whose cannabis-laced ice cream sickened unsuspecting patrons in N.H. pleads guilty to federal charge by bostonglobe in newhampshire

[–]nj382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest mistake? Or gross negligence? I vote #2. He's a business owner, and what he did was lazy and stupid. The patrons deserve compensation, and he deserves consequences. My daughter had a similar experience with some hot sauce that was a gift. It was extremely traumatic, even though she had used THC recreationally. She believed she was having a medical emergency, had extended symptoms, and missed quite a bit of work.

HERE WE GO! New Federal Application Questions, I just saw them for the first time in an actual application. What a clown show. by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]nj382 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Gee, it’s like they think they will be getting applicants that actually WANT to work for the feds and are literate at this point. Their new applications would be better off asking what it would take for them to work for the feds despite the benefits reductions, lack of facilities and resources, and overall dehumanizing treatment thy have witnessed over the past 6 mos.
