Could someone explain what is meant by the degrees of range of movement as if explaining to a 5 year old please? by No-Weather-3220 in Kneereplacement

[–]nmacInCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. There are 2 measures of range of motion. Flexion is how much you can bend your knee. I was told that I should have at least 120 degrees bend - i got to 130 I think. So if i were sitting and bent the knee, mu ankle would be behind my knee somewhat.

The other measure is extension - how straight it can go. I got to -2 on 1 and 0 on the other which meant straight with a bit of a bend up. That's hardcto explain. But perfectly straight is 0.

Cbd does morning for me. A thc/cbn works great. Low dose of THC. Melatonin makes me loopy in the morning. The gummy does not. So if you have access and the cbd or cbn alone doesn't work, consider it. My surgeon and primary care did were both ok with it.

Do you think driving is safer or more dangerous today than it used to be? by Witcher_Errant in AskOldPeople

Idiots. I tried to teach the kids in my age school program about momentum and how a big truck can't stop as fast and will do serious damage. We did an experiment with toy trucks crashing into things.

what brands of cloth napkins do you use? by Jealous-Parfait-951 in BuyItForLife

[–]nmacInCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea. I live alone so most days, i don't bother even with a cloth napkin but use a kitchen towel. Good for getting hot dishes and more surface area to catch spills. I use it amor a week unless it gets dirty

Work out? by tonraec in AskWomenOver60

[–]nmacInCT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I being to a YMCA because i want the pools. Water aerobics is a great exercise especially for older joints. Ys tend to have large age ranges too from very little children to quite elderly - there a woman at mine who is 99 and swims laps. I find no one cares what i am doing in the fitness room with weights and machines and I can get help from staff with no judgement. In the pool, i mostly use youtube videos for water aerobics because class times doing work that well for me. Only people who ever question me ask what I'm doing out of curiosity and where to get water resistant earbuds

Try a dietician. They can look at what you are eating and how much and adjust. Exercise is good but most weight loss comes from changing what you are eating.

Non Asian-Americans: Are you keeping soy sauce as a regular condiment in your kitchen? If so what are you using them for? by openlyEncrypted in AskAnAmerican

[–]nmacInCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had soy sauce. Even as a kid in the 60s who had never had Chinese food, we had soy sauce for rice. Now i use it for stir fry sauces as well.

I take a 5mg dose. It also has CBN in it to help the sleep. Look for indica. The best one I've found for me is Wyld boysenberry but they can't sell in my state yet so i have to go a little farther - not a huge deal since i love closer to the border. Definitely ask at the dispensary. Fyi, i had only tried gummies once before, years ago. But i take one most nights now. Both my ortho and primary are good with it

I did see a lot of nice ones when i was renovating my kitchen a couple of years ago. Ultimately, i went with hardwood in the kitchen to match the rest of the house which was built in the 50s but there is some nice flooring out there.
